To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.
To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.
Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.
Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.
We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:
- We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
- When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
- Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
- Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
- To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

Thank you so much for the lovely words 💜 yes, i guess thats important because many people think that controlling is something that is done out of love. Maybe there is, they are limiting us out of concern. But there is a limit to it too. It all comes with mutual respect. I guess i have been affected by it too much, its intimidating. Thats why i joined WP to build my confidence. Thank you so much for all the support.

I’ve had a look at your blog. I can’t say I care for the flat grey colour with no header but perhaps the “dull” look is what you’re wanting. (Judging from your bi-line above.)
I’m happy to see you’ve installed a Recent Posts widget. It makes a blog much more user-friendly in my opinion, though I’d have put it in the side bar. I’d encourage you to install a Tag cloud. and do use categories and tags; this is how your posts get seen by other readers. Check out https://en.wordpress.com//tags/ for ideas.
And have posted six items already. One thing I’d say to any blogger. No more than two posts a day max. We are busy people. It’s too hard for readers to keep up with a slough of posts coming at them. I follow one blogger who posts over a dozen poems a day and I read one or two at the most. Write them and save them for the times you’re not so inspired.
LikeLiked by 7 people
Tag cloud is definitely something I will have to learn more about. Yea, the flat grey needs to go. I was curious about how often people post. That makes perfect sense though. Thank you so much for giving me some awesome info. I really appreciate it.

Raw, and upfront. I love it! I was this mom as well. 3 years and 8 months later. I lost a lot of years, but know by the Grace of God my fall has lifted me higher. Nothing I love more then truth without it we can’t come to the realization of self. I will keep reading, as my days were so much like yours. Keep em’ coming, and don’t look back!

I am the same way with mine, raw! I forwarnded my family it will not be for the faint of heart. They will be reliving what came to my arrest, and surrender of my life over to God to be free of the solace I found in a bottle. Stop by and take peak. It gets real raw, for death awaited me. All the better for it 3 years and 8 months later. I lost much to gain even more. Good luck in your venture. Keep on keeping on. For the bottle is no friend. For me it was just a mask, and numbing agent for my wounds in this life. Living in the clarity of freedom, and happiness. Daily sober, Lisa

Welcome 🙂
Two things: First, I noticed that you still have some placeholder text in your blog’s sidebar — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget! Second, you have a few extra posts without content that you’ll probably want to remove, and you can do that in My Site > Posts.

One tip to the freshers: Write with passion or not at all! And have fun! It’s great to be connected with amazing folks here.

One thing I noticed — you’re using a lot of tags and categories on some of your posts. The WordPress.com Reader actually filters out posts that use more than 15 tags and categories (combined) as an anti-spam measure, so using this many tags actually makes it harder for folks to find your posts, not easier.

Thank you so much! I am all heart. Everthing I write is from the heart, I find it healing and draining all in one. I wear my heart on my sleeve. So this is quite an adventure. My passion comes from the hands of my gracious God who picked me up at my most feeble state. So weak I could barely lift my eyes. He came, and with His gentle hands lifted my chin so I could see all the Glory in His splendor waiting for me. Just a lost drunk girl, waiting for her King!! He rescued me, and I whole because of Him. Thank you, blessings. For Grace lives here…Lisa

Did I forget to mention I have done all of this on my phone, yep my phone. Could not even tell you what it looks like from a desktop point of view. When I went back to school at 40, the writing was a breeze it was the formatting I stayed up all night to get right. This has been quite a fun experience. Learning my phone(future job with T-Mobile)….yeah right!! Anyways all from my phone I bleed my heart out on word press. Which I am so grateful for today’s avenues in which we can share, and multiple ways to share. 📚📝💭☺📖📱

I pretty much rely on my phone too. Everything is done in bits and pieces when I have a spare minute!

Oh she’s so cute. I love her li’l ponytails 🙂 and it’s good that she likes fruit vs candy and fake sugar.
