Where bloggers come for friendly feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

Happy Monday!
I had quite a few posts go up this past week. Book review, thoughts, Disney travel etc… this was one of my popular ones. The one where I say ‘Go ahead- deny your age!’ https://theyoncecalledherpumpkin.wordpress.com/2017/04/06/whats-my-age-again/
What do you think?
Feel free to take a look around my site- lots of topics to choose from. Always looking to connect and get feedback!

I’ve just checked out your blog and will gladly offer a few tips. First off, do fill in your About page — and not something vague like, “A dreamer dreaming big dreams and sharing them here.”
Do give your readers some idea of:
-who you are (M or F; a student, chicken farmer, jet pilot or retired grandpa)
-where in the world you are (Shropshire UK, Hong Kong, Louisiana USA.)
Personally, I like to know some of these things before I interact with a blogger. Otherwise I’m taking shots in the dark when I leave a comment.
Secondly, Do install some widgets in your sidebar (which may be at the bottom on your theme.) On the pop-up menu on the left under My Sites, you’ll see Themes and Customize. If you click on Customize, you’ll get another pop-out menu with your choice of Fonts, Header, Colors, Widgets,… Choose Widgets and you’ll see a number of options. For starters I’d encourage you to install a Recent Posts widget, a Categories widget and/or Tag Cloud widget.
As time goes on and as you check out the tutorials, you’ll learn a lot about this new adventure. Blogging is like cycling; once you get started you can really go places. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. All the best.

I took a stab at poetry this week for my tennis blog. It’s a little cheeky…nothing too serious. My blog is lighthearted, so I wasn’t going for “serious”. But let me know what you think.

That was a good review. You gave enough information for a person to decide if they would enjoy the series. I’ve watched many of the episodes and I think your review is a fair representation of the series. https://gracelead.co

Hi everyone! I’m a sophomore in high school and I started my blog a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love with it. I’ve never had a place to get feedback and advice on my writing! I’m in love with this community. It would mean the world if you would check out my blog.

I’ve had a quick peek at your blog and have a couple of suggestions. The first: check out the variety of background colors available to you. Because your page is white, a colored background may be an improvement. You have an infinite variety to choose from.
Go to your slide out side bar and find Themes and select Customize. this will take you to another page and slide out bar with Header, Menus, Colors and Background, Fonts, etc. Click on Colors and select Background Then mess around, check out various background colors. Given your header, I’d try to pick something like a pale peach/rose to pick up on that sunset color, or light grey-blue. If you don’t like it, don’t save it and your blog will revert back to the default white.
The other thing is the tags. You can use up to fifteen categories & tags and each one sends your post around to different spots on the Reader, so other readers can see your title and first line. Check out your options here: https://en.wordpress.com/tags

Interesting piece, though it seems like you’re letting a couple of ugly stories that involved believers color your views on religion.
LikeLike
Maybe, I am. I don’t think that all the believers are same. A few ugly stories stain the entire community. That is how it works regarding a lot of things. A few terrorists having ugly stories stain their entire religion. A few teenagers having ugly stories stain the entire teenage community.
