Where bloggers come for friendly feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

Gorgeous lyrics. The grey text on a dark grey background isn’t easy to read, though: if you could change the font colour to white it would be much better.

Would love to get some feedback on it 🙂
Thanks in advance!

It’s an interesting thought to be able to redo a day until you get it right. Things could get confusing if other people were also traveling back to redo the day. 🙂 https://gracelead.co

Yeah I haven’t gone into the part of paradoxical situations it can create. It was basically reply to the prompt given by DailyPost, what would I write If I could go back in time 🙂 So stayed focused on that 🙂

Love the quotes in all your writing. I didn’t think about how confidence can basically diminish the necessity of time traveling. Really enjoyed it, keep it up!

To the poets, the writer and all the readers,my heartiest Hello! I have a blog which I think is very amateur. But a little help from you guys,a little constructive criticism might help me and encourage me to work harder. Would you guys please look at my work once?

Looks good to me, but I guess you should do something about the text widget 🙂

I don’t understand. Can you please elaborate a little?

Layout-wise, I enjoy the neat feel of it, along with its economy of colors. Liked it already.
The ‘but’ was about “Thought while writing” on the sidebar. The first time I saw it, it still looked something like this “This is a text widget. . .” So I guess it’s OK now. 🙂

After my last, saga-length post, my new one is shorter and (hopefully) sweeter. https://redtabbywordsblog.wordpress.com/2017/04/07/on-commas/ Please let me know what you think, particularly of my attempts to make the layout look more interesting.

The layout looked good. Your comma butterfly was an intriguing image. The comma post was enjoyable and informative. Your lead-in sentence seemed awkward with passive voice. Perhaps, “At work this week, someone sent an email to me and a colleague which read” would work better. https://gracelead.co

Thank you for the feedback, and you’re quite right about the opening sentence. That’s what I love about the Community Pool – other bloggers pick up on things like this that can be totally missed when you’re writing!

Hi folks, I’ve signed up for Blogging University and in preparation for an upcoming post, I’m seeking reader feedback on what I should write about:
https://wordpress.com/post/rasadventuresblog.wordpress.com/699
The problem is, this is is secondary blog (my primary one is focussed on a sailing adventure I’m currently undertaking) so my readership is tiny. Anyone care to give me some feedback or ideas on what I should write about…?
Cheers

If I understand the purpose of your site, it should prove useful to many people. Regarding the site layout, for me the black background strained my eyes. Also, you might want to run spell check. For instance, “accross” should be “across.” https://gracelead.co

Thanks for the observation. What colours do you think is best?
LikeLiked by 1 person
For me, it’s easier to read dark text on a pale background. On the background, as long as it’s a pale shade, any color will do (white, pale yellow, pale green, pale blue…). On the text, dark shades (black, dark brown, dark blue, dark green…) work well. You might want to avoid red or overly bright colors except for accents or occasional emphasis.

Hello Friends,
This is my first post on this pool. 2 years ago I was a heaving cigarette smoker with at least 12 to 15 cigarettes a day. I wanted to quit since a long time. Then, I finally quit smoking after several tries. This is my experience on quitting smoking.
My fellow blogger, please review my post ‘Quitting Nicotine’ and share to your smoker friends as well.

Batwoman,
First of all, thank you for posting this. I myself sometimes struggle; I mean, we all do. I appreciate your post and your connecting to your reader in the very beginning. You clearly establish that first and foremost.
One piece of feedback I would give is the pink highlight you use on a few words/phrases. It makes the font a bit hard to read given the color of the text when it is highlighted like that. However, your emphasis with the bolding puts your voice into your writing, giving your readers more of a conversational tone. It’s as if we are sitting in comfy chairs and talking about life stuff over tea.
Lastly, your about page doesn’t seem to have anything on it! You’ve got the default text, but I would love to hear more about the wonderful blogger behind such reassuring words.
Thanks so much! Welcome to the community! ❤

Hey! Thank you so much for your precious feedback and kind words 😁
It feels priceless that I could get my message across the way I intended to.. it’s great that you felt connected because that’s exactly what I was striving for ☺️
I will definitely make a note of what you said, and change the pink on my next blog!
I created an about page tbh, but then forgot to save it 🙈 lol. Typical. 😅
On it right now though!
Ps, Thanks! It’s great to see people like you going an extra mile and helping out us newbies 😊😊

Of course! And no worries at all; I am happy to help. But let it be known that I am a newbie myself. Stared on April 3rd. ❤
I was a tutor for a while, so I figured I could help out by applying that to review blogs for people in the Community Pool! I mean, that's what they're there for after all. Have an awesome day and happy blogging.
