Community Pool

Where bloggers come for friendly feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

    1. I like the idea of a poetry challenge with a bit of competition, but maybe you could also participate. It would give readers inspiration and it would help get things started.
I wish you the best of luck with your challenge!

    1. I like the way your personal experience is laid out in an almost fiction-like format, but you still need to keep an eye on your grammar. Don’t be afraid to branch out beyond what’s personal as well. A lot of self-growth happens when you least expect it.
      Good luck with your blog!

    1. I like the idea of spreading your personal story and connection with God, but don’t be afraid to branch into other topics as well. You’d be surprised how much happiness there is in expanding yourself and your writing.
      Good luck!

    1. There are a few surface things I noticed right away. First, while your posts have featured images, they’re not all the same size, which can be distracting. Also, you might want to find a better way to organize your book related posts and your fashion posts so people can find the content they want.
Feel free to stop by my blog, but don’t feel the need to follow unless you like the content.
      Good luck!

  1. Hi friends!

I’ve been working on improving the titles of my blog posts. If you’d be willing to help me out, would you please scroll through the main page of my blog, take a look at the titles of some of my posts, and let me know which posts have a title that engages you?

    Thank you!

    1. I would say as a whole, the ones that catch my eye are the shorter titles. Not only are they easier to read, they tend to stick in mind. One thing that might is making them less direct and more creative to catch readers’ eyes. If anything, shortening them forces you to think of more creative titles because every word has to work for you.
      Good luck with your blog!

  3. I have been wading around the pool for a few days now, treading water in the deep end to improve my stamina. I’m looking for bloggers to participate in an experiment of revelation that can be found in LESS IS MORE by visiting me @ StreamingThruAmerica.com
Your ideas will contribute towards other interesting ideas.

  4. So we now we know that, people are hooked onto their smartphones more than anything & people are consuming content on it. So what that means, that you should start focussing on these devices, for the possibilities to win followers/Customers for your product & Service.
We published a new blog about it. So it would be awesome if we could get feedback on it. Thanks. https://gcmediain.wordpress.com/2017/04/05/yes-you-should-make-your-website-mobile-friendly

    1. It looks good, the subheadings work really well. Two small things I would say are that your blog subheading in grey (the ‘A practical approach to being almost vegan’) is a little hard to read, and secondly, is the heading ‘I tired it’ meant to be that, or ‘I tried it’? It looks great overall 🙂

  6. Hello everyone!

As part of a university assignment for my final year we have to create a blog and generate traffic.

I have given it a go, I began in February but I’ve only just really got into the swing of it.

Any feedback I would be really grateful for 🙂

Even better, if anyone has a minute to write a short comment on my blog that would be great! It is part of the marking criteria that our site is populated with comments!

    Thank you 🙂

    1. I am also following!! I enjoy reading so much but haven’t had much time lately. I’m an avid Stephen King fan but enjoy mystery, crime and fantasy too. Good luck with your project.
