Community Pool

Where bloggers come for friendly feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

  1. Hello fellow bloggers, it’s been a while since I posted on here but thought I’d do so. I’ve recently updated my blog to look a little cleaner and easier to read, it’s a photography blog where I share my images, mostly street and landscape and taken on a variety of digital and film formats.

    Why not give it a look? maybe you’ll see something you like? Below are a couple of recent posts, the first being from a series of medium format film images that has been running for quite some time, and the other from a series of street photography images taken digitally. Hope you enjoy my work;

  2. Hello gang!

    Guess who’s back?

    …Back again. Shady’s back. Tell a friend! Guess who’s back, guess who’s back, guess who’s back…

Sorry. I always do that. It’s so hard not to continue with the song.

I wrote another travel tale today, this time about Florida, which is a weird and wonderful state. Actually it’s not about Florida, it’s about the mindbending weirdness that is the Florida State Fair! If you’ve never been… You’re missing out.

    1. What a cool blog! My only comment is I would like to see more than one item offered for the Mother’s Day post. I’m following your blog and all social media.

    1. Hi Ishita, your blog has the potential to be great you just have to finish tweaking your layout until you get what you like. I sent you an email so check it out. Good post. Keep writing. Readers will come. 🙂

    2. Hi Ishita! Very heartfelt, honest first post. I think it would be beneficial to have a separate post page as opposed to that being your home page. It also seems like your other pages need to be filled out! Once you get yourself all set up I think your blog will be tremendous

  4. If you read financial independence and early retirement blogs, but feel a bit late to the party and find them a bit vague on details, come and contribute to a family who are a work in progress with lots of info on how we plan to strategize getting out of the rat race!

    1. This hits close to home. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard my husband say “Why don’t you speak up?”. I don’t like conflict and this results in me becoming a door mat. At some point I usually do speak up, but never as much as I should.

  5. Are you a writer, or another creative spirit looking for inspiration? Do you like poetry? I’d like to invite everyone to stop by and check out my poem of the week, “Muse to Find.” It’s a brief piece of inspiration for the creative soul. Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page as well. If you like what you see, feel free to browse around, and follow along so you don’t miss anything as I post several times a week. Thanks in advance.

    1. I think sometimes we remember things differently simply because we are viewing them from our angle and not the other person’s. If you don’t put yourself in the other person’s shoes, the same story may be time different ways. Great post!

  6. Hello everyone,

My pen name is Seif Salama Karem, I have a BA in Islamic studies. About a week ago I started a new blog titled “Islamic Methodologies Made Easy;” its posts discuss how main stream Muslims think of their religion, and how they understand it; maybe this will help in narrowing the distance between Muslims and people from other faiths. I shall also gladly answer any questions related to my religion within my grasp of knowledge, no matter how controversial their issues maybe. Your feedback and suggestions are sincerely appreciated.

    Kind regards.
