Community Pool

Where bloggers come for friendly feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

    1. Your social media links don’t link to your profiles. Also consider adding a menu of topics so people can more easily read about particular things (recipes, parenting…).

    1. It was readable and relatable. Overall your site was easy to navigate. Your About page was helpful in letting us know what to expect on your site. The font was rather small. I had to adjust my screen to read it comfortably. For me, the pop-up invite upon entering the site is annoying. You have a follow button in your right column. You could put your email signup button or widget there as well. https://gracelead.co

  1. I’ve recently published a new blog post on Nietzsche’s Theory of Perspectivism.
Don’t worry, nothing fancy, I’ve only tried relating his philosophy to real life scenarios.

Please visit and leave a review. I’d gladly visit your blog in return.

    1. Nietzsche is a very interesting philosopher and sometimes tough to wrap the mind around this thoughts! I remember studying some of his work in my philosophy class. Good post! I like it a lot! Its not often you see someone post about old philosophers!

  2. Hello fellow bloggers! This is Pinkspen and my blog LADYHOOD is a site for “the teenage girl who is struggling to find her identity in this world. Who struggle with their self-esteem, self-care, and self-love… for the girls who feel like they are not pretty enough or smart enough to be everything they desire to be…for the transgender girl who wants equality… for mothers raising young daughters…and for all women who struggle with the daily challenges of being a girl in a male dominated society.”

  3. Current personal project: working on learning how to make more the staple foods I consume. This past week is was peanut butter!

Check it out, let me know if there’s any way I could format/structure these kind of posts that would be helpful to someone reading who also wants to try.

    1. Good for you. Now you can have it anyway you like it. You could even add a dash of spice, perhaps cinnamon. Trying sunflower seeds sounds like a good idea too. I think anyone wanting to try making peanut butter could do it from reading your post. https://gracelead.co

      1. Hi Danielle, thanks for your feedback! Actually I don’t live there anymore 🙂 I move to Kuwait in the Middle East 2 years ago. But I do miss my home quite a lot, hence the post. I thought I would share how wonderful it is ^^

  4. Hey Friends !

I have great news for you Bloggers and Readers. 🙂

I wrote something I am proud. Because it was particularly heart-wrenching!!

Bleed out your Emotions. Open wide your Hearts.

A salute to Womanhood. Inspired by a weekly prompt (Speak Out) two months back.

Writing this article has taken me back to my old self. The crazy, risk-taking, living on-an-impulse Me.

    See you there then!

    I am waiting for you… 😉

    Someone said,
“She wasn’t looking for a knight. She was looking for a sword.”

    That’s what I feel. NOW.

  5. I’ve just started a second blog, and want to import some posts from my old blog. How do I do this without cutting and pasting, importing photos and doing all the links again?
