Community Pool

Where bloggers come for friendly feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

  1. Hi all!:) I recently started a second blog site where I want to share funny or random thoughts/ experiences of mine as well as some poetry. I don’t have a niche for it, except maybe humor or poetry. What do you guys think? Is there anything that I should focus on? I really just want it to be a blog in which I can share my random thoughts and opinions, which can be funny, as well as some things that happened to me through my day. Any suggestions or comments would be so helpful 😊 https://loveforserendipity.wordpress.com

    1. Hi! Your page is very refreshing and colorful. Don’t worry too much about a niche. I once heard a coach colleague say that if you don’t know what to narrow down to of focus on, keep it broad and it will show up.

  2. Good evening, fellow bloggers, and thank you for sharing your awesome work!
This week, I took you inside Finlandia-talo, an architecture hallmark of Helsinki, and showed you the beautiful skies of Finland… but wait, there’s more! Tomorrow, I’m guiding you to Hanko, the southernmost point of mainland Finland. There’s a lot going on, I’m having tons of fun on adventures like those 🙂

  4. I’ve started a blog about beating depression through personal development. My latest article focuses on depression relationships. It’s certainly worth checking out if you or someone you know suffers from depression.

I’m interested in how to add to the design of my blog, in regards to buttons for sharing and likes, as well as monetizing. Any feedback would be very welcome. Hope you all have an awesome day!

  5. I’d like to invite everyone to stop by and check out my poem of the week, “To Sit with Monsters in a Sea.” It’s a wondering, whimsical piece of poetry about nothing in particular. Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page as well. If you like what you see, feel free to browse around, and follow along so you don’t miss anything as I post several times a week. Thanks in advance.

    1. Hey, I really liked your blog. You have a clean, stylish layout and design. I also really like Plath, so your blog won me over 😀 I look forward to seeing you grow it xxx

    1. Your writing style is very clear, conversational but not in a sloppy way. I really like the way you introduced the topic because you sounded as most of your readers might sound- curious. You flow one one aspect of the topic to the next smoothly. It’s easy to follow and interesting to read. I will say that you could possibly break it up into two posts as it does begin to get lenghty and I think most readers want to absorb the information rather more quickly then they would a book or short story. I would hate for all the great things you say at the end to be looked over. You’re doing great! I love nostalgia so I’ll def come back again. I have a nostalgia post in my draft about typewriters that I’m going to post soon.
