To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

      1. Hi! visited your blog and “Creepy thoughts” catches my attention . I would want to comment in there but it seems like you are not allowing comments to your blog. I just want to say that we have the same sentiments regarding the issue and it’s really creepy! I would love to try your recipe but I’m not a kitchen-type of person, maybe Moon will. HAHA

And by the way, we are new here in wordpress and in blogging world. If you have time , please visit our page : https://eclipsestories.wordpress.com/

        Thanks.

      2. Thanks a lot for your sincere appreciation! I’m really happy that people are realizing these creepy things. Xx
No, commenting is open. I get comments from unknowns already.
Will definitely check your blog in my free time. It’s in to check list!
        Love!

    1. One thing I noticed — you’re using a lot of tags and categories on some of your posts. The WordPress.com Reader actually filters out posts that use more than 15 tags and categories (combined) as an anti-spam measure, so using this many tags actually makes it harder for folks to find your posts, which is sad! If you cut your tags down to the most relevant, you’ll actually draw more readers.

      Welcome!

  1. Greetings everyone! I’m ElleFitzG and my blog is about being in your 20s. Now we all have had those moments when we’ve been stuck in a grunt about what to do entering the world of adulthood. So why not look to a guide? Someone like me is always listening! You’re not alone girls!

    1. Welcome 🙂

I noticed that you still have some placeholder text in your sidebar on individual posts (ie, not on the home page) — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget!

    1. Welcome!

A note — we’d appreciate it if you didn’t leave repeated links in comments. Your name links to your blog, so folks can find you easily when you reply to them. And since you’ve leaving such supportive feedback, it’s likely that they’ll be clicking on your name . (It’s considered a bit spammy to leave multiple links.) Thanks, and welcome again!

  2. Hello and welcome, new folks! We’re really excited to meet you.

As usual, I just want to remind everyone that we moderate the comments on First Friday pretty heavily — this is really a space for brand new people to introduce themselves and meet one another, and for others to welcome and support them.

If you’re not here to either share your (recent) first post or leave a supportive comment, please head to the Community Pool, which is where any blogger can seek feedback on any aspect of blogging. And if you’re not sure what the guidelines here are, please read the above post — or just ask!

    Happy blogging, y’all:)

    1. Hi there 🙂 Wow! What a great idea. Scriptwriting has always fascinated me, but is something I have never really known much about. So it will be interesting to see where this journey takes you! Best of luck blogging! Have a beautiful weekend!

    1. Hi Shannon, its impressive to know that you travel with your mother who is in her 70s. Just proves that once bitten by the travel bug, distances or age don’t matter.
I too have started blogging about travel very recently. Though not a seasoned world traveler, visiting new places for short stays give me inexplicable joy.

    1. Welcome! FYI: that link goes to your dashboard, which is private, so people won’t be able to see your site. The simplest way to get the public link is to go to your blog’s main page and click on the post title. Then, copy the address you see in your browser’s address bar and use that. Here’s your site: https://lifeuntapped.com/

You’ll also want to make sure your add that link to your profile, so people on WordPress.com can find you by clicking on your name — you can do that here: https://wordpress.com/me/public-profile/

  6. Truth in advertising, it is indeed titled “First blog post” and talks about some dad humor that had me thinking raspberries are ant butts. The theme of the blog is theoretically my second go-round with weight loss (think metric ton), told without the vapid motivational cliches, but hopefully with honesty, humor, and a bit of grumpy pragmatism. Who knows, maybe even inspiration occasionally. https://notelle.wordpress.com/2017/01/28/first-blog-post/

  7. This is my first week blogging! I wrote a book. I never did anything with said book. Finally decided I needed to DO something with it and well, I decided I should do more writing in general so I can finalize the manuscript, get it published, and then work on the next book. My blog is about my publishing journey and also a place to stretch my writing skills by retelling some of my travel and cooking stories, which I use to jumpstart my fiction too. Here is my very first post: https://alicrumpacker.com/2017/01/29/the-jump-between-2010-and-2017/

  8. I am not sure yet how to advertise my brain dump. I am just figuring out how to navigate this world. Journaling has been a passed time of mine for as long as I can remember, I have even offered my journals to people as a good read, not the day to day diary stuff but legit brain dumps…the we have all thought it stuff, or if you haven’t you are thinking it now. I am getting my feet wet in the level of community I can create and the therapeutic release of my words, for me…and maybe others…who knows???
