Community Pool

The place for feedback, advice, and conversations about blogging.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

    1. I don’t post every day either because honestly, I don’t have the time! I commend you for posting as often as you do and enjoyed looking through your content! And you have a ton of followers!

    1. Colin, those were interesting. I think the Twitter apologies and idiot sign were appropriate punishments. The arrest of a whole room of people, in my opinion, was ridiculous. Perhaps the 46 people should file a class action suit against the judge, make him pay a $1,500 fine and spend the night in a jail cell listening to a series of phone alerts. https://gracelead.co

    1. It looks like you are off to a good start. Your About page makes the purpose of your site clear. Overall, your site is attractive. To gain visibility, one thing to explore is the WordPress Reader. You could set a tag “memoir” and see what posts it returns. You may find others writing on that topic. If you put a like or comment on the posts, it will make your site more visible to them and others searching by that key word. https://gracelead.co

  1. Helloooo! This isn’t exactly a recent post in the sense of having written it today, but I would certainly like to know if it connects well with some readers! If it does, maybe give it a like so I know (you don’t have to!)? My blog hasn’t got a theme, just like how I can’t simply choose an all time favourite tune! 2. Hello everyone!
I recently got back to blogging after a long break. Some of my posts are really really long and I will keep that in mind for the future. However, it would be nice if some of you could take a look at my blog and let me know what you think about it in the comments section below the posts. I would be grateful and it would be my pleasure to check out your blogs too.
    Regards,
    A Jovial Glutton.

  3. Hey Guys! I just posted a poem, not your atypical senseless love poem, and it would mean the world to me if you dropped into my blog and checked it out. Leave a like if you like what you see! ❤

    1. It should be fine. Using your current website address (url), you could change your Header name and all the text on your site to whatever language you like. Or, you could write each post in both languages. I’ve seen some people use both languages in the same post with a heading that tells which language it is. I’ve seen others write a separate post for each language and assign them to a separate category so people can easily find the language they prefer. https://gracelead.co

      1. Thanks for your feedback paminat0r. It might be that your punch is far more modern than mine…I haven’t bought Stampin’ Up stuff in quite a while…I need to use up what I have 😉

  4. Hi my loved community. I just started a new blog for a few minutes. I wanted to blog every day with just a picture and sometimes a short text and therefore give an 365 day documentary. I would really be honored if you would buy me a visit and follow my daily journey. Check out https://thedailymentory.wordpress.com/
and stay in touch. See you around. Wish you a nice weekend

      1. Hi paminat0r. I don’t know if you remember our conversations in November, but my site was the one with all of my song titles linked in a purple box. I reworked the whole page, name and all. I am happy to see that it looks better now. I have been waiting to see what you thought of the new and improved blog page. Thanks for the read and comment!
