Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

      I noticed that you still have some placeholder text in your blog’s sidebar — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget!

      Your theme displays excerpts for posts, so you’ll want to create one. To do that, go in to edit your post and look in the “Advanced” tab on the left side of the page. You’ll find a box there where you can put in an excerpt.

      I noticed that your blog’s home page has lots of placeholder text on it. You can find your theme’s details here: https://wordpress.com/themes/harmonic — it’ll help you learn to customize and configure all the parts of your home page.

      You’ll want to start by giving your site a title! You can do that by going to My Site > Customize > Site Identity.

    1. Hi Leslie.. Thanks for the follow. I looked at your blog too, just one thing immediately hit me, that background colour. I may obviously be alone in this but ummm.. I find it difficult to read your writing on that colour. Hope you don’t mind the honesty.

      2. I’m still trying to figure out the technical side of things, I thought that would be an accent color. The page will be changing a lot over the next few days when I get a chance to sit and manage it for longer than 5 minutes. Thanks for the feedback, I don’t mind at all!

      You’ve also got a placeholder post displaying at the top of your page; you’ll want to delete that. You can find your posts y going to My Site > Posts.
