New blogger? Welcome! Share a link to your first post, say hello to other new faces, and find your first few readers.
For other help:
If you’re not new and are looking for support or feedback, the Community Pool is the place for you!For technical questions, visit the WordPress.com Support Forums.
To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.
To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.
Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.
Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.
We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:
- We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
- When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
- Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
- Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
- To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.
Currently blogless? You’re a click away from sharing your story.

Welcome 🙂
I noticed that you still have some placeholder text in your blog’s sidebar, on the right side — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget!

Hint: include the http:// bit of your blog’s address, and you’ll get a clickable link when you publish the comment. Voila:

You’ll also want to give your site a title — you can do that by going to My Site > Customize > Site Identity.

Hi! I noticed that your blog’s home page has lots of placeholder text on it. You can find your theme’s details here: https://wordpress.com/themes/gateway — it’ll help you learn to customize and configure all the parts of your home page.

Hello and welcome, new folks! We’re really excited to meet you.
As usual, I just want to remind everyone that we moderate the comments on First Friday pretty heavily — this is really a space for brand new people to introduce themselves and meet one another, and for others to welcome and support them.
If you’re not here to either share your (recent) first post or leave a supportive comment, please head to the Community Pool, which is where any blogger can seek feedback on any aspect of blogging. And if you’re not sure what the guidelines here are, please read the above post — or just ask!
Happy blogging, y’all:)

One thing I noticed — you’re using a lot of tags and categories on your post. The WordPress.com Reader actually filters out posts that use more than 15 tags and categories (combined) as an anti-spam measure, so using this many tags actually makes it harder for folks to find your posts, which is sad! If you cut your tags down to the most relevant, you’ll actually draw more readers.

Thank you for the feedback, I’ve cut back the tags and selected one category of which there were two from what I could see. Hopefully I’ve made myself a bit more user friendly with your guidance. Thanks again 😊

Thanks for this tip. I thought tags made it easier for people to find content that goes across multiple topics – so I’m glad to know that choosing just 3-5 is more effective.

You can have up to 15 tags and categories (combined), so you can choose a few more than that if you like. The 15 is the only cutoff, there’s no penalty for using 10 or 12 rather than 3 or 5.

The illustration at the top of your blog caught my eye. Then I read that it was one of yours. Congrats. I love the experience of learning new technical skills through blogging. Sounds like you’re loving that too. Congrats on getting it out there and getting started. I couldn’t see where to comment in reply to your post. I might have missed it. I was able to do it here in the First Friday thread so I’m guessing you do have comments turned on? Maybe michelle or one of the other WP gurus can suggest how to make it more noticeable for people to comment? Or maybe it was just my eyes at the time … 🙂

Comments are there; you have to click the little bubble with the plus sign at the end of the post to reveal them. This theme is meant to be very minimal and pared-down, so it hides the comments by default.

Welcome! FYI: that link goes to your dashboard, which is private, so people won’t be able to see your site. The simplest way to get the public link is to go to your blog’s main page and click on the post title. Then, copy the address you see in your browser’s address bar and use that. Glad to have found your site. I love using sound as a way of expanding awareness and creativity. I found the rhythm in the opening section of Hurtz very engaging.

I totally agree! The album from Hurz it is not an easy one. I found that more you give it a go and more you are able to explore different aspects of it and of yourself!:P
The one from the Tiresia Raptus for me is more like a journey! I could listen to it over and over again! HAve a good one! Ciao
