Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to their first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your post, copy and paste the link right into a comment here.

Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment!

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • The third time is not the charm: don’t share your stuff repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. These will be removed as well.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments or repeatedly replying to comments with your link; this is considered spammy. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    1. Welcome! FYI: that link goes to your dashboard, which is private, so people won’t be able to see your site. The simplest way to get the public link is to go to your blog’s main page and click on the post title. Then, copy the address you see in your browser’s address bar and use that.   10. Hi all! I started blogging this week, and plan to write about life in general – being a mommy, day to day experiences, sharing feedback on new recipes, product reviews, etc.
    So far, I am having troubles with trying to ad code to my widgets. Any suggestions on what I could be doing wrong would be appreciated!

    2. For the placeholder text in your blog’s footer — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget, that’s the one you want to edit. Are you having other widget problems?

      I noticed that you still have some placeholder text in your blog’s sidebar — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget!

      You might also consider hiding the theme’s default header image (the coffee cup/pad of paper) so it doesn’t fight with the picture you’ve inserted. You can do that by going to My Site > Customize > Header Image and clicking “Hide.”

  17. So my blog focuses on asking people about stories from their personal life. I asked them questions about their lifestyle, their opinions, and their thoughts on life. A lot of the answers were pretty interesting, a lot inspiring. I then turned the stories into an eBook (of sorts), but i know it needs a lot of work before i can share it with more people, which is why your feedback is so valuable.
