To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to their first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your post, copy and paste the link right into a comment here.

Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment!

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • The third time is not the charm: don’t share your stuff repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. These will be removed as well.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments or repeatedly replying to comments with your link; this is considered spammy. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    1. Don’t forget to update your about page, it’s the toughest thing to work on (i think). But, it’ll give people who enter your blog for the first time, an idea of who they are reading about, and what kind of person chooses the sultry, smart clothing you blog about.

  1. Hi guys. This is my very first blog. I started about two days ago. I’ve always had a passion for writing and although I’m a little rusty (It’s been awhile) I am very excited to share my pieces with you all.!

    1. I left a comment on your blog. It speaks to me! As a side note, not trying to be picky, if you change the font color of your blog’s title “bluebloomiris” to a lighter shade or something, it might pop better.

  2. Hi guys, recently i’ve inspired to become a blogger and maybe try to blog often and make it my full time job in the future. I’d love it if you guys check it out and give me some feedbacks ~

    1. Hello my fellow bloggers! I accidentally pressed reply without putting any description with my link, but it’s Friday so no worries! Anyhoo, please stop on by and enjoy! And most importantly, have a beautiful day 🙂

    2. One thing — I noticed you’re using a lot of tags and categories on some of your posts. The WordPress.com Reader filters out posts that use more than 15 tags and categories (combined) as an anti-spam measure, so using this many tags actually makes it harder for folks to find your posts, which is sad! If you cut your tags down to the most relevant, you’ll actually draw more readers.

    3. Love this “Oh the places we will go to discover such treasures and oh the places we have been already that have led us to believe that there is so much more out there than what we can imagine.”

    1. Fantastic. I like the yummy butter chicken curry, got to try it once I buy a crockpot. A tiny critique, I know this is a brand spanking new blog, and the about me page is the toughest part of creating a blog (at least that’s what I think). Start small, include the region where you from, the type of foods you like, your kids favorite thing to eat, et cetera. By the way are you British? My mom’s from Wolverhampton England, just curious.

      1. Thank you! Any advice is much appreciated- I had no idea where to start :’) and yes I’m from Poole, Dorset so not too far from your mum. I actually have family that live in Wolverhampton.

    1. I like the name of the blog…, is that your personal name or one with deeper meaning. I don’t want Wiki to tell me if it is something that exists, but I never knew existed. Great blog, love the look, and I left a comment on your first of many blog post 😀 Good luck!

    1. Welcome! FYI: that link goes to your dashboard, which is private, so people won’t be able to see your site. The simplest way to get the public link is to go to your blog’s main page and click on the post title. Then, copy the address you see in your browser’s address bar and use that. Here’s your site: https://themagichoursite.wordpress.com/

You’ll also want to be sure to correct the link in your profile, so people can get to your site when they click on your name. You can fix that here: https://wordpress.com/me/public-profile/

    1. Great infographic! Canva is a great tool, and it’s free! My only tip for next time would be to brighten up the colour scheme. Also, in terms of your accompanying writing, you can connect to a time you had burnout. Keep up the awesome work!
I’d appreciate if you took a look at my blog too!

      1. Thanks for checking it out! Your blog is totally different and unique. The about me page tells me a lot about you, but without revealing too much. It’s hard to keep pen name and anonymity on the internet, but you’ve done a great job!

      2. You’re welcome and same. I appreciate your input. Yes, anonymity is important to me but so is being true of self. Adds mystery I think. 😉 Thanks again, good luck & hope to see you around.

  3. The First Post
This is my chance to make a great first impression; no pressure right? It only seems appropriate to share why I am even writing this blog. To me it’s the opportunity to share thoughts, support and hope with those who may be new to it, in the middle of one of those horrible lows that we can […]
