To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to their first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your post, copy and paste the link right into a comment here.

Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment!

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • The third time is not the charm: don’t share your stuff repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. These will be removed as well.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments or repeatedly replying to comments with your link; this is considered spammy. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    1. Hello,

This is a friendly reminder that this thread is geared exclusively towards bloggers writing their very first posts. We know that people often take a break — whether short or long — from blogging, and that’s perfectly fine! But thanks for sharing your future posts over at the Community Pool (there’s a new post every Monday), which a space where anyone can share posts and ask for feedback.

  1. Hello all,

I am a new blogger, hoping to share a bit of my life with the world. Everything is a bit rough at the moment whilst I get set up and learn the ropes but it is great to see spaces like this for new bloggers to meet and share their first posts.

Hope you have a look and join me for a natter! x

    1. Now that you’ve gotten started with writing, there’s time to pretty it up so that others find it easy to move around. It’ll also be pleasing for you.

An afternoon (an hour or two, it’s alright) in the Customizer could do your blog some good – you can figure out how your blog works, and fix some of the links that appear on the top of your main page. You can link them to your FB or Twitter pages, or if there’s nothing you want to link to, get rid of them completely. You can always go back and re-link and add more pages (like an About page – you don’t seem to have one). From doing things like this, you learn not just how to blog, but how to maintain an aesthetically-pleasing site that you wouldn’t mind faffing around in for an hour or two at a time.

  2. Hi! I would like to get some general feedback about my photography blog. I am doing my best but not getting so many viewers/readers. Thank you in advance for all the tips! 🙂

    1. Hi there, I’ve just read this article and points two and three are exactly why i have started to write personal blog posts. I want people to see what actually makes me tick, especially people who only see me in my technical role – they’ll soon get to see me with my cows and tractors too!

Also as I fumble my way through life, if I pick up anything to make my life easier, I feel that I should pass that on too – something that is BAU for me, may be a godsend to someone else and vice versa.

Great intro blog post and good luck with sharing your story 🙂

  3. Hey Guys, I’ve just come across this great opportunity for feedback on my first blog post; however it was on November 1st, so I’m a little over the month limit. If you don’t mind my tardy submission, I have included my link below:

    https://mountainrescuer.com/2016/11/01/movember-2016-another-moustache-growing-month/

I’ve previously written technical blog posts for vendors, but never anything personal, so I am venturing into unknown territory. I’m also very lacking in any creativity, so would appreciate feedback on both my writing style and design.

I look forward to looking at fellow bloggers posts to provide feedback, and for creative inspiration.

    Thank you all,
    Graham
