To find, copy, and paste your link:

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to their first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your post, copy and paste the link right into a comment here.

Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment!

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • The third time is not the charm: don’t share your stuff repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. These will be removed as well.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments or repeatedly replying to comments with your link; this is considered spammy. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    merci !

    1. Hi! Fun post – I definitely get the traveling solo thing – I’m planning another trip around Asia mostly solo next year (after getting the thesis out the way haha) It is fun travelling with others but there’s something cool about the sheer independence of doing it yourself. GO YOU! good luck for the blog too 🙂

I love your post about house hunting, and you live in Whangerei – one of my best friends is from there! Tiny world really, haha. Hope you find the perfect house soon, and good luck with your blog also!

  2. Hello everyone! I have been working on this page as a way to get my lyrics out of my head and on the radio. I am a writer, not a musician, but I do love to sing. Other people do not enjoy my singing voice, so I am hoping for musicians to check out my blog and potentially collaborate with me to help me get these songs recorded.
I also want to write books, and am also going to use my blog portion to expand on my writing abilities.
I am Tish Webber, Writer of Words.

    1. I couldn’t read it all as a lot seemed to be in a different language but the one I could read was good. Just wanna say you might want to edit the main screen of your blog as it is at the default “this is a text widget” which you are meant to take out and add something of your own. Reply if you don’t know how to do it because I just figured it out 🙂

      1. Yeah, it’s my native language, but I’ll be shore to add something new in english. But thank you for your opinion and suggestions as a new blogger the more criticism the better. I think I figured it out.

      1. Dear Cheri. Thank you very much for your message. I am not sure what are you talking about. You mean that the above article has not been properly published so that anyone can see and read it? Could you please instruct me on how to do it right this time? Best Regards. Elizabeth

      2. Hi Elizabeth — yes, your authenticity post is published properly. The public link where people can view and read it is:

        https://sharingisvitalblog.wordpress.com/2016/11/15/authenticity-autonomy-and-self-differentiation/

The original link you had shared above (https://wordpress.com/post/sharingisvitalblog.wordpress.com/76) looks like a link to an internal page in your WordPress.com dashboard, where all of your post content is. This area in “My Sites” is private and viewable only to you.

When sharing links to your posts, make sure you’re sharing the public links. After you publish a new post, visit your site at https://sharingisvitalblog.wordpress.com, and then click on the title of the post you’d like to share. That will take you to the post itself. Copy the link you see at the top, in your browser — that’s the correct link to share with people.

  7. I’ve just finished reading a book, when an idea occured to me to write a review on it. Writing has always been therapeutic for me, I don’t know why I just started blogging. But I am quite new to this world and it would be lovely to hear some feedback.
Here is my my first blog and my review on the book:

  8. Wow, I didn’t think there would be this kind of forum to share when I decided to start my site! I don’t know where I want to go with it, but I know writing is something that I enjoy doing. Totally nerve wracking to publish, but I did it. I know there can be plenty of critiques about how I started the site or style of writing, but my first post was surprisingly easy to write.

  9. Kia ora! Here in New Zealand, no-one knows that I’m writing this secret blog – not quite ready to tell family/friends yet. Weird that I’d share it with you lovely people before them… 🙂 might fall flat on its face, but there’s something delightful about the risk!
I would LOVE some feedback about my first post about my mama, papa and my hunt for a removal house…. https://appletreevilla.wordpress.com/

Thanks! Just checked your blog out – loved your wee lists on the home page… I totally agree with you on the yellow thing! For me, its because gorse (which was introduced by Scottish settlers to NZ) has taken over so much of our amazing farmland, and the flowers are yellow. Having grown up in the country, that’s all I think of (weeds) when I see yellow!
