First Friday

New blogger? Welcome! Share a link to your first post, say hello to other new faces, and find your first few readers.

For other help:
If you’re not new and are looking for support or feedback, the Community Pool is the place for you!

For technical questions, visit the WordPress.com Support Forums.

To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard. Click on a post’s title to open the individual post. Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to their first post with the community! To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here.

Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other links to keep this space focused on new bloggers. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays by visiting a link or two and leaving the bloggers a supportive like or comment.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused with a few other guidelines:

  • If you share a link, visit a few other bloggers as well. New readers for all!
  • Please don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post — it makes it easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” or “Please look at my blog!” comments. They’re a bit spammy, and it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual blogs.
  • To keep from losing your place, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

  1. Hello and welcome, new folks! We’re really excited to meet you.

As usual, I just want to remind everyone that we moderate the comments on First Friday pretty heavily — this is really a space for brand new people to introduce themselves and meet one another, and for others to welcome and support them.

If you’re not here to either share your (recent) first post or leave a supportive comment, please head to the Community Pool, which is where any blogger can seek feedback on any aspect of blogging. And if you’re not sure what the guidelines here are, please read the above post — or just ask!

    Happy blogging, y’all:)

    1. Amazing mommy you are! My mommy quit her job to take care of us. She became a stay home mum. We never once lost sight of her. And it was the best way growing up. We formed the most amazing bond even after all the spankings. Lol. And after 22 years, my mother is my best friend.
Hope to be a mum like you and mine someday. Thanks for letting me know I could get my hands full…with bundles of joy!

  2. Hello everyone, I am a neonatal nurse, and I care for premature and sick babies and I have started a blog so people can get to know the world of neonates and what goes on from the nurses perspective 😊

    1. Welcome 🙂

I noticed that you still have some placeholder text in your blog’s sidebar (on the right) — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget!

  3. Hi Guys,

About two weeks ago I published my first blog, about motivation. I am planning to publish more posts, mainly focusing on personal development in order to chase your dreams.
It would be great if you can read it and provide me with some feedback. You can find my first post at: https://hellorogier.wordpress.com/. My second post about productivity will be published soon as well!

    Have a lovely weekend,

  4. Welcome 🙂

I noticed that you still have some placeholder text in your blog’s sidebar (on the right) — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget!

You’ll also want to get rid of the generic post excerpt — the part that says “This is the excerpt for your very first post.” To change or remove that, edit the post, and look for the “Advanced Options” tab in the left column. You’ll find the post excerpt in there.

  5. Welcome! FYI: that link goes to your dashboard, which is private, so people won’t be able to see your site. The simplest way to get the public link is to go to your blog’s main page and click on the post title. Then, copy the address you see in your browser’s address bar and use that. Here’s your site: http://sheisabroadsite.wordpress.com/

Also, I noticed that you still have some placeholder text in your blog’s sidebar (on the right) — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget!

Please check out my blog if you are interested in music, current affairs or the odd unrelated article. I will be posting on my blog once a week and will try my very best to be consistent 😊

  8. Hi! Photography and cinematography is my game. I’m always trying to improve and learn. Also I love travel and learning about different cultures. Blending these two is lots of fun. Https//neftaliarauz.wordpress.com
