The place for feedback, advice, and friendly blogging chatter.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Hello fellow bloggers!
This week’s post is about how people’s greatest strength can also be their greatest weakness and vice versa. I would appreciate feedback on it as it is my first personal development article.

Your post was a good read. I have also heard that your strength is your weakness. Much like what you said, I’ve learned that this is only true when you overdo your strength. I have to pay attention to when I begin going into overdrive on my strength and take it down a notch 🙂 https://gracelead.co

I love that you also mentioned that your greatest weakness can become your greatest strength. It’s hard to believe that when you’re struggling to overcome something, but it’s possible. Your post encouraged me!

Hi – I checked out your blog and looked at several posts about your trip to Iceland. I visited Iceland with my family last year and fell in love.
Iceland is so full of amazing sites that it’s really hard to distill it into short blogs but. . .
I would suggest including more pictures interspersed with your writing instead of big clumps of photos at the end. I’m not a big fan of putting multiple photos into a gallery formation because most people aren’t going to take the time to click through them. Less is more.
Your paragraphs and blog posts in general are a little long. Watch the run-on sentences. Try reading out loud. If you run out of breath before getting to the period – make your sentence shorter.
Please check out my blog if you get a chance and let me know what you think. I’m a newbie and welcome all comments about my writing and blog construction!

Hey!! Thanks so much for the feedback! I definitely need to go back over the Iceland ones. They were so rushed as I was desperately trying to make one every day, then realised it was fruitless.
I’ll definitely give them a clean soon, as people are curious about Iceland and I’m not doing it justice in my blog.
Have you looked at a couple of recent ones? I only ask as I’m wondering if you’re saying exclusively about Iceland or about my other blogs too. Either way, thankyou for giving me some pointers. I’ll check yours out now.

Yes it is, it is your blog…
We all write stories and the moment we publish it, it becomes our creation. Though we can’t claim anything on the idea but yes if anyone is copying your work, you can go against it and question it…
Don’t worry, it’s a blog… we all share what we write…
For example, take a look at my blog.
Even at first I felt about the copyright issues but no need to worry, friend…

Hello everyone, happy Monday! My traffic is maintaining/slowly growing, as I have daily posts. I’m looking to reduce a little, possibly to 5 days a week. Does anyone have any recommendations to continue to bring in traffic on days there are no new posts? Or any general feedback for my blog? Thank you in advance! https://anhistorianabouttown.wordpress.com

I think a good place to start is to check out your stats page. And days where your blog usually has light traffic can be days that you don’t post. Vice versa, days where your blog normally has heavy traffic would be days to focus posting content.
I’m off to check out your blog now 🙂

The fact that you could post that much per week is quite a lot! On the days with no new posts, I tend to just dive into random posts, whether it’s the people I follow, or those who follow me, or even dive randomly into the Daily Prompt (not necessarily posting in the Daily, but still) or here in the Pool (or even in First Friday). I leave a comment here and again, and who knows – people who run into my comments might get interested and give me a visit.

Interesting blog you have.
One way to keep generating traffic is to write posts that encourage shares and reblogs. It also helps to stay connected to the community even on days when you don’t post, by reading other blogs and commenting.
The truth is that posts have a limited visibility in the Reader as in any content stream, so that even great content gets quickly swept under a pile of new posts.
That’s why optimizing content for search engines (to make them easier to find online) and getting them on other social media networks is so important for committed bloggers.

I really like the topic and enjoy your writing. I think breaking into more paragraphs or making a key point bold would help those readers that just stop by and give it a quick skim. Even if they only read a few lines, they may still toss a like or a follow your way! Keep up the good work!

Wow never thought of that! Thanks so much for the input!

Hey, everyone. I’m thinking of writing some e-books to give out to my readers as fun freebies. I wanted to run some ideas by the community. Mind going to my page and checking them out then telling me what you think?

I appreciate any/all advice, comments, and suggestions. Thanks. :]

Your post was a good read. I suspect you will have many people cheering you on with your project. I’m wondering if you will be watching a lot of HGTV. https://gracelead.co

Hello Book Lover 🙂
Thank you for sharing your post 🙂
I really enjoyed your writing. It is beautiful. You descriptions are so detailed and really capture the beauty of nature so eloquently.
I really loved this part: ‘met me like an old friend and encompassed me in its serene wholeness’…
It would really awesome to be able to see links to your previous posts (you can add a widget on the side bar). It would be great to see more on your page too….maybe more pictures?
You may also want to consider trying different headers. Something that really conveys your theme / message / what you write about would really draw the reader in.
🙂

Thank you so much! Really appreciate the feedback. Will definitely look into the headers! For now, all the posts on http://www.introverthaven.wordpress.com are all I’ve written, but will write more soon! Thanks again! 😊

Your post was a lovely description of not only the scenery, but your reaction to it. I especially liked “sereness wholeness.” https://gracelead.co
