If you’re not new and are looking for support or feedback, the Community Pool is the place for you!

For technical questions, visit the WordPress.com Support Forums.

To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard. Click on a post’s title to open the individual post. Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to their first post with the community! To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here.

Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other links to keep this space focused on new bloggers. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays by visiting a link or two and leaving the bloggers a supportive like or comment.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused with a few other guidelines:

  • If you share a link, visit a few other bloggers as well. New readers for all!
  • Please don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post — it makes it easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” or “Please look at my blog!” comments. They’re a bit spammy, and it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual blogs.
  • To keep from losing your place, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    1. We’re glad that you’re so excited about your blog, but please don’t post repeated links — it’s considered a bit spammy, and they’ll be removed. If you want to get people to engage with you, the best thing you can do is engage with them directly!

      1. The same goes for leaving multiple links on unrelated posts, like photo challenges. All those links will be removed, and if it continues, we’ll begin requiring that an editor here manually approve all your comments. Much better to participate meaningfully with the other posts and bloggers here!

  1. Hey! I am new at blogging, and I have a lot to share.I am not sure what I write will really touch you or something, but what I know is Whatever I write is actually what my heart wants to say. I am totally inspired with the song “stressed out by twenty-one pilots”; I really don’t rhyme when I write ’cause I feel when you write without rhyming, you get more hold on what you really want to convey. If you would like to see my post, please feel free to visit/follow and comment, ’cause I am new in this field, I expect some suggestions.
    Thanks you

    1. Off to a good start. check out this link for learning how to customize your page and make it an expression of you. http://learn.wordpress.com/
As far as content, don’t do what others do, write from and for yourself. What inspires you? What are you about? I’m fairly new at blogging, mine is about my journey as a writer. Just today someone pointed out a widget that needed changing.

  2. Hello, I’ve just started the Learning Fundamentals Course through WordPress and my very first blog. I have tagged first fridays on the post but am unsure if it will show here in the comments for you to all read. Let me know what you think

    1. Welcome!

Tagging your post doesn’t automatically include it here, it includes it in the tag in the Reader — you can visit the tag to check out posts from all the other people who are currently taking the course.

Also, a tip: share the link to your stand-alone blog, rather than to the WordPress.com Reader. That way, people will be able to see the full site and all the work you’ve put into it! Here’s your link: https://rediscoveringmomblog.wordpress.com/

    1. Look like you’ve posted a link to your preview, which only you can see — make sure you share the link to the public, published post!

(If you’re not sure how to get the correct link, just ask 🙂 )

    1. A beautiful, simple design with a powerful statement. Your writing seems to be a release for you. It’s much easier to be honest with yourself with all of us strangers. You are very brave to publish your thoughts. Thank you for sharing and making a difference!

    1. Hi, Catron. Your topic resonates with me, and I would love to read your blog, but the link says restricted. I would love to provide honest and caring feedback if you send me an invite. Thank you for being so brave.

      1. Hi Emily, I do apologise. My website was set on “private” until a few hours ago. (Again the fear showing…) I have reset it to “public”, so you should be able to access the link I provided on First Friday. Thank you for expressing your interest in reading my first blog. Your feedback would mean the world to me. I had a quick look at your About Page and your job sounds fascinating!

  3. I love your title – it can go several different ways! Your site is very welcoming and calming. The blue just seems to draw you in. Your writing is very upbeat and easy to follow. I like that you use questions to engage the reader. And you dog……who can resist him! You have a great site, and more- your enthusiasm shines through. Enjoy your site!
