The place for feedback, advice, and friendly blogging chatter.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

What’s your opinion on cybersecurity in first-world countries such as the United States? Do you think security, even with all marginal costs, has much more marginal benefits in comparison?
Remember if you have any opinions about the article, feel free to comment on the post. ^_^

I like the thought process in your post. It would be easier to read with some grammar fixes. For example, “beings that wants” should be “beings that want” and “right person appear” should be “right person appears.” https://gracelead.co

Your munchkin sounds like a handful. I hope you can keep up with him. It would be nice to see a few words on your About page to tell us the purpose of your site. You might want to put something in the text widget (favorite quote, link to recommended site, etc.) or remove it. https://gracelead.co

I read Because You Look Better With A Smile. I like the ideas in the post, but the title didn’t seem to match the content. The overall look of the site seems good, though it would be nice to see some categories rather than “uncategorized.” It would be nice to see an About page that tells us the purpose of your site.

Hey, I like it! One thing I would suggest is getting the background image to cover the whole screen and fixing it in place so it doesn’t scroll with the rest of the site.

Your content is interesting and your photos are lovely. Your posts would be easier to read with some grammar improvements. For instance, “When we can go on a vacation?” is not a sentence. It should be part of the previous sentence. https://gracelead.co

Hey, I think the first thing is to be very clear what you want your blog to about and what you want to get out of it. Your “About” page says it’s a computer blog, but you’ve also got posts about fashion which are two subjects that wouldn’t normally go together on a blog I think!
Once you have your content nailed, start thinking about promoting your blog – social media, connecting with like minded bloggers etc.

Thanks for that.. Does it mean I should take out the Fashion page 4 d now?

Can I please get some feedback on my content and writing style? I get the obligatory ‘great writing’ from family and friends and am looking for some unbiased feedback. Thank you. http://www.faiththroughturmoil.wordpress.com

I can see why your family and friends like your writing. You write well, not just from a technical perspective, but from a tone and openness perspective. I do have a couple of things for you to consider on your site. (1) The Header, although attractive, doesn’t seem to coordinate with the idea of faith through turmoil. (2) It would be nice to see an About page with a few words telling us the purpose of the site. Are you writing an an encouragement to others who may be having similar experiences or as an outlet to express yourself or both? https://gracelead.co

I liked your 11 weird tips. I am also a proponet of peeing in the shower. Now, on to SEO. Search Engine Optimization is built-in with WordPress. Use a few precise categories and tags (more tags is generally not better). In fact, if you have more than 15 tags+categories on a post, WordPress will not include it in their Reader. Try to think of what words your prospective viewers might use for searching. Do your best to use titles that would match their searches. https://gracelead.co
