Community Pool

The place for feedback, advice, and friendly blogging chatter.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

  2. It’s so hard to say goodbye, but this is my farewell. I haven’t posted in a while because I’ve been going through SO much these last couple weeks. This is kind of a long read, but a summary of my last few days. This break up will no longer be dragged on. It’s time to say goodbye. =( I’m not looking for a pity party. I truly needed to get these feelings out because I’ve been driving myself insane. Any advice/feedback will be much appreciated.

  3. The last few weeks, let alone days have been so hard on me, and it’s time to say goodbye to someone I love. I’m not looking for a pity party, but any advice/feedback is much appreciated. Tonight I was finally able to take some time and put my feelings on paper.

  4. Good morning guys,
Doreen again; My blog ‘Living and Learning’ is about relationships, hook ups, sex and love. I have a section (my picks) where I blog on fashion or anything that interests me, away from relationship and Love.
Today I posted a post for those convinced that they would never love again because of a heart break. I have been here, heart broken. Still working on it but we have to survive right? Kindly read and tell me if you believe in love even after a heartbreak. Here’s the link; https://myverytrendy.wordpress.com/2016/08/19/read-this-if-youre-convinced-youre-never-going-to-love-again/
Don’t forget to click Follow if you like my stories and also comment on feedback. Appreciated.

  5. Hello All, and Good Morning.

I have been struggling lately with my blog, and I would love everyone’s feedback and guidance. I feel as though I have been talking about the same things over and over. Any advice on spicing things up? What do you all do when you feel like you have hit a creative block? I have new post ideas and written down in my blogbook, but I am having trouble getting started. Any advice?

    1. Would you consider a less grainy photo for your header image? I think it takes a little away from the blog and becomes a distraction.

Loved the post -looked like a great time! 🙂 Although, how could you not have an awesome time when there are jagerbombs involved?

  8. Hey everyone,

Exactly 45 days ago, I started a year-long kindness project. Lieu and behold, I’ve actually executed on this idea and have blogged each day about a random act I’ve performed.

I continue to appreciate any feedback or suggestions anyone has:

  10. Hello,
Thanks for participating in the Community Pool! I just wanted to let you know that we ask people not to post multiple new threads in a single week, since it makes it harder for other bloggers to find readers to give them feedback, and generally makes the visit quite a bit less smooth.

    Thanks for your cooperation!
