The place for feedback, advice, and friendly blogging chatter.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Hello. My most recent Fiction work. Tell me how it is. As I’ve heard that once the artist keeps his work in the public domain. Then it’s for them to decide whether it’s good or not. So I do hope I wrote it well.
IF NOT! do give me some better suggestions and skills to try! I’ll be more than happy to get better at this!
Btw, am I too late for this week’s community pool? :p

Greetings Blog World,
I am looking for some feedback on this blog post. Is it clear and does it flow? Thanks

The ideas make sense. There are some incomplete sentences which make the reading more difficult. For instance, “Two key elements to help share your organization’s core values.” is not a sentence. Consider blending it with the words following it: “Two key elements to help share your organization’s core values are your narrative and your behaviors.” Another thing to watch is point of view within a paragraph. Switching between you, we, and us in the same paragraph gets confusing. https://gracelead.co

Hi, I like your blog, always enjoy seeing kids out on their adventures. My daughter is 18 and I miss the action and the way they enjoy everything. Anyway, I thought your blog might benefit from having pages, one for craft and one for the family. Might help to separate the two out and make it easier for people to find specific items etc. I think the layout and colours work really well and the photos definitely help. Great stuff!

In my opinion, you effectively summarized the key challenges. Thanks for your feedback! I totally agree with you when I changed it to this colour scheme. However I’m not too sure how to change the front colour. Another option would be to change the image but I do like it. Any suggestions?

well I think the picture is good to. And i don’t know what kind of theme you have installed, and what changes you can to with yours theme. But I would recommend to try change it to a bit lighter color. I just tried to change it quick in the browser and it looked very good when I change the color to almost white

I liked it. It was nice how you took real issues that we hear about 24/7, but spun it in a new way. Who doesn’t love Clint Eastwood?! Probably Chuck Norris, haha. I have a question though, I have been blogging for a few months now, and am always scared to use images that I haven’t taken myself. How are you able to know you can use images, like the grand torino pic?

I was too at first till I started watching you tube. I seen all kinds of images used in videos. I think as long as the image is used in good taste and doesn’t defile person you won’t meet any resistance. If you look at Facebook this happens all the time. I believe the copy right issue is enforced when someone else is try to make money off another person’s property.

The layout seems to work for what you are doing. At some point, you might want to put your categories in your Menu. It could be helpful to readers who have a special interest in one category (ex. food, family …). https://gracelead.co

Your layout looks good and makes sense. Navigation is easy. I think your idea of organizing your blog into a group of series is creative. As you said, not everyone will be interested in all your series; therefore, it might make sense to alternate release of your posts amongst the series: a post for series A on Monday, a post for series B on Tuesday… I did notice that you have several typos in what you have so far. Some proofreading would be helpful. https://gracelead.co
