To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

  1. Hello everyone!
Sadly, I missed this post yesterday, but just in case someone is still reading over the comments, here’s a link to my first post. I really do hope that you enjoy it and feedbacks are much appreciated.

Good luck on your blogging journey!

    1. I really liked your first post as well as the prompt post on Slowly. You do not have to confine yourself to any theme. I did not keep a concise list of topics on my blog to stick to either. Just represent yourself and you are off to a good start with that.

    1. The link you put up leads us to your Customizer, which we don’t have access to (nor should we ever have access to it). Your username takes us to your site, though. But speaking of Customizer, part of your adventure (man, I seem to be saying this next bit a lot) is going to include spending a couple of hours, literally, playing around with your blog in the Customizer. Don’t blog, don’t think about blogging your next topic, just do the things to make your blog nice and inviting. Put together an “About” Page, maybe fix that Text Widget at the bottom, play with colors and fonts, just play around. Can’t just move into a new place without making it pretty for yourself, you know?

      1. Hi Jonny. Thank you for the advice! 🙂 I am still playing around with the blog and very new to wordpress. I am sure it will look better with time as my skills improve aswell.

Also- I’m an “anon” writer (lol) so what would you then suggest I write in the about page? And how do I do the layout of my page myself?

        Thanks a milion!! 🙂

      2. It’s your about page, why not write about you? Who are you? Why are you blogging? What do you want to blog about? And so on, and so on.

Also, us free users don’t have too much in the way of layout options (like where exactly things can go) compared to the ones who pay, but you still have some layout options, especially what you put in your menus, what kind of widgets (text, links to other pages in your WP blog, a Twitter feed) you use. Half the fun of Customizer is trying to figure out how your theme works, the other half is doing things to make it work.

My blog is horrifyingly simplistic in design, so it’s probably not the best example, but there’s several other blogs out there that use your theme. You’ll find them randomly as you spend more time here getting to know the community you’ve just jumped into. Have fun!

  2. Hello- I recently started a blog where I discuss and share anything that comes to mind. Through my posts I hope to spread positivity
Here is my latest blog post about the effects of body shaming where I want to create awareness of how our words make an impact

I would really appreciate any feedback! Thanks!

    1. Welcome! FYI: that link goes to your dashboard, which is private, so people won’t be able to see your site. The simplest way to get the public link is to go to your blog’s main page and click on the post title. Then, copy the address you see in your browser’s address bar and use that. Here’s your site: http://justinagluba.wordpress.com/

  3. Hi there, new to the blogging game. I actually wrote my first post before I wrote my blog. It was the response to a Facebook post that prompted me to start writing for the public. Check out my first post here:

    3 becomes 4

I’ve found it difficult to capture the same raw emotion and passion in subsequent posts, but I think I’m doing Ok…

    Thoughts?

  5. Hey All. I made a blog awhile ago when I was studying in Japan, but just now got around to actually putting out some content. Here’s my first post just giving a little background about myself I hope to put out some interesting content from here on out!

    A Bit About Me

I’d love any feedback since I tend to ramble and probably talk about a lot of stuff people may not find interesting on occasion. Oh and any suggestions for stuff I mentioned you’d like to hear more about there’s a lot I didn’t talk about!

    1. Hi, Michelle.
I am a newbie also and I am not an expert, but I want to give you my honest opinion constructively.
I do like the way you going. I think the theme is nice for what you choosing to talk about, but I am not sure about the background picture.
Unless you have the intention to add some widgets to the side of your page, I would advise you to try other pictures with a more light color, so the contrast with the rest is not too strong.
But this is only my suggestion, of course, you can disagree with it. 😉
Wish you all the luck with your blog.
