Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. I just started a blog (have wanted to for years…). It’s about taking the sugar coating out of life. So all my blogs are about my life (work, relationships, family, dating, coaching, etc) but not sugar coating it. Would love opinions! OH and it’s anonymous! 😀

  2. Hello everyone!
I recently started a blog about my thoughts and some lessons I have learned in my little life of sixteen years. I hope everyone can find something in it. I post every Tuesday about a new, random topic, and learnings from it (either an experience or a story)
It would be awesome if you could check my blog out and leave comments and feedback either on this comment as a reply or my blog itself. Please do pay a visit and take a look.
    Thank you.

(PS – I also designed a new logo myself so feel free to leave feedback on that as well :P)

    1. Yep there’s nothing visible there. Try visiting your blog homepage, log out of WordPress if necessary. Not sure how to fix it, but I review books too so stop on by and I’ll keep in touch with yours :).

  3. Hello all.
I just started a blog about my love for art, poetry, music and writing. I love talking about the latest novels or bios i’ve read, music i listen to, movies i’ve watched; as well, as post up pictures of my artwork and poems that i write. I also like to talk about the wonderful, funny things i have experienced in life – and also – not afraid to talk about the not so pretty things in life. I hope anyone who lives and breathes creativity will read my blog and enjoy it. I send my love!!!

    1. Hello! I am so glad I found your blog. It was a very nice read, the poems were interesting and I’ll definitely make time to read through more posts.

I’m looking forward to more posts! Since you like art and poetry, you might like my blog, maybe? (I feel so shy and silly asking, I’m sorry…)

      Much love to you,

      Sacha

      1. Thank you Sacha. I’m still trying to figure out how to use wordpress so I found it hard to find the follow button on your page. I like your writing too, love the stories and poems too. I’ll be reading your work too.

    1. Hey! Just read your post about procrastination! It was very fun, I especially liked the part about learning Mandarin instead of studying. I’m looking forward to more posts 🙂

Also, I feel rather shy asking, but would you mind checking my blog? I too have a post on procrastination ^^

Welcome to the Colour of Poetry!

I hope you have a lovely day!

    2. Hello, I absolutely can relate. You’re not procrastinating, you just got distracted by something more interesting. It happens to creative minds. Focusing though takes a lot of snacks and the best music. LOUD music.

    2. Hey! I just took a look at your blog, but I was not really sure where it was going…. I think you should expend the about section and make sure you tell your readers what your blog is going to be about. Also, perhaps make it more illustrated? I don’t know, maybe that’s just me, but I love it when there are pictures or illustrations ^^

In any case, don’t give up! I’ve seen some interesting posts 🙂

I hope you have a lovely day!

      1. Thanks very much! I haven’t really had a theme so far, it’s just been things I’ve been interested in, perhaps I will just base it on travel and running. I will add a post now to let my followers know! Thankyou so much! I especially enjoyed reading your blog post “the art of finding home” it’s very interesting and I extremely liked the photos included! Please keep writing!

      2. I can’t be doing with narrowing it down, life isn’t narrowed down, life is best served wide and up!! I thought about it, then I thought “NO! my life isn’t about being pigeon holed and so I might as well share my eclectic flow”. I think I will post that thought, schedule it for Saturday 🙂

    3. Traveling, Fitness & Dreams. Even though there isn’t really a theme it’s still simple, clean and easy to navigate. I really enjoyed reading your “Running” post as I am a long distance runner too. Lastly I like the consistency of you having a quote at the end of your post. It gives you something to look forward to. Keep writing! 🙂

  7. Hello everyone!

I recently started a blog where I post poetry, art and thoughts about the world. My latest post is called “The Art of Finding Home” and features a short poem about home. If you like poetry or/and art (and even if you don’t, really 🙂 ) I would love it if you could tell me what you think, as I always find it enriching to know other bloggers’ opinions.

    Thanks for your time!

I hope you have a lovely day,

  9. Hay, I’m new to the blogging world and I love this post. Thank You Ben Huberman for posting this. I would love to know how to get my profile picture on here because it didn’t show up on WordPress. I am always looking for constructive criticism. If you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours. I’ll read some of these blogs either way but please leave questions and comments to my email or the specific post. bintadamblog.wordpress.com Thank You

  10. Hello all,

My name is Safia and I recently started a blog about life as a Muslim female living in Africa, namely Algeria. I’m writing as much as I can but I feel that my work lacks direction; there’s not much to tie my posts together in terms of theme. Also, I’m a little afraid that I might come off long-winded sometimes. Either way I haven’t had much feedback apart from family and friends, so I’d love for anyone to take an objective look and let me know what they think. Thank you!

    1. Hi. Visited your blog.

I like your tips. I like the layout. The page itself is inviting and professional looking. If I were looking for online dating tips, yours would do the trick.

I do have a few suggestions since you are seeking constructive criticism. These are just things that would make me choose you over another blog offering similar advice.

Your static page seems to be your “About”. Which is fine, but it makes it difficult for someone to just scroll through your posts and read. I have to work at finding what you write. If that’s what you want people to find when they click on you, groovy. However, I’d suggest a more robust About section to entice people to go looking at what you have to offer.

Who is your target audience? The tips you are giving, while good, aren’t exactly unique. Maybe go more into what actually works for you and why it works?

I hope I didn’t come off as insulting, not my intent at all.

      1. I really appreciate your advice, I needed that outsider prospective. I’m still trying to figure out what I’m most passionate about and right now it’s been online dating but in the future I want to write more about traveling.

I agree about having to work at finding what I’m writing about and I feel it depends if your looking at as a mobile site versus non mobile. It’s still a working progress but everyday I’m finding new ways to create an inviting, bright and easy to navigate blog.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog and writing a comment. 🙂
