Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. Your site is attractive and easy to navigate. Thank you for creating an informative About page (something many new bloggers don’t do). You are also ahead of the pack by having clear Categories for your posts. Your posts are easy to ready and have a candid, humorous tone. BTW, you could create another blog to show prospective employers. Of course, it would need to feature just those things that best market you to them. http://gracelead.co

      1. Thanks! The problem is that I have no clue what to write for possible employers! It’s easier to talk about life 😉 But I am definitely looking into it. Thanks for the feedback!

      2. Admittedly, it wouldn’t be as fun 🙂 You could find an article on the internet related to your career and do a summary or review of it for your post.

      3. VERY true. The problem is that I am known for social media marketing and am ready to shift out of it. So I had to figure out what I want to be known for in the realms of marketing. I finally (after all day yesterday and today) think I figured out my first topic: communication between Boomers and millennials due to participation trophies.

  4. This seems like a really great idea and I’d love it if folks could stop by my blog and take a look (www.amelizajane.wordpress.com) – I’m planning on writing one post each week around a different topic, one for Travel Stories, another for Opinion Pieces, another for Art/Photography/Poetry and one for whatever I feel like.

If anyone has comments on the layout, feel, fonts, writing and even planning timing so that I get a better international reach (living in Australia means posting times can be a bit awkward) I’d love to hear feedback! 🙂

    1. I really like your writing style. It is so enticing. Also, for some reason, I found your about page really funny. Don’t know why but I just completely lost it. Anyway, I’m gonna follow you.
Hey, I’m in India so your time is 5 1/2 hours ahead of ours but that’s okay. Your post would come up on my followed sites page.
I hate saying this, but it’d be really nice if you could check out my blog too.

  7. I have a blog chewygranolamama.wordpress.com that I just recently launched. I got the menus and stuff set up the way I wanted and I like that I have the logo at the top (and loved the background although that’s not as important) but when I went and looked at it with the mobile view options, it looks really difficult to read and I am a long post blogger for sure, definitely not a short and sweet kind of writer so I need help finding a new theme I guess. Does anyone know of a free theme that lets me keep my logo and the menus the way I have them but that is just as easily read on a tablet/phone as it is on a computer? Does that exist?

    1. Love the hairdressing page, have given it a facebook share for you.

On the business site – would consider looking at your image names for SEO purposes, your links are good as they go to end destination pages rather than homepages, but there is one link which is ‘pressure timber’ which goes to a branch locator page for a store.

For good SEO, either change it to ‘you can buy pressure timber here’ to direct to the same page. Or send it to a page about pressure timber.

      Hope that helps!

  11. I’d love the gift of an expert opinion on armybratparenting.com. Specifically, is it relevant to more than just crazy mommies? Is it legit funny or kinda funny or not funny at all? And how’s the swearing ratio? Thanks in advance. xoxo

    1. I read your last three posts. Other than not being able to relate to “cracked and bleeding nipples” on a personal level, I really found it interesting. You write well, the humor isn’t over the top. I found myself chuckling in a few spots. So yes, it appeals to more than crazy mommies. Although that will probably be the bulk of your readership, being we manly men don’t like to talk about breast milk. I followed anyway. 😉

Oh, and you’re pretty techno-savvy by the look of it: your Recent Posts widget in the sidebar prompted me to put up one of these too.
