Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. I would like to have some feed back please, from peers that have been blogging and enjoying it. I at times worry about my flow of words or do I just ramble. I tend to do that a lot.

  2. I love this post so much because I have found so many great blogs on it. If you care to check out mine, it’s https://overanalysingliterature.wordpress.com.

I blog about books, providing detailed analysis of them. And sometimes just fun little posts too. I’m thinking about posting some analyses as videos, so that visual and auditory learners can feel at home in my blog as well. What do you think of that idea?

    1. Your site delivers on the promise implied in the URL. Your About page is the most extensive I have seen. It clearly tells us the purpose of your blog and introduces us to you. I think “Quirky Victorian” suits you 🙂 I like the way you have your posts organized with your thoughts on specific passages in a book. Regarding doing an analysis on a video, I think you should give it try. I suspect you will be good at it. http://gracelead.co

    1. I loved your post. Poked around the rest of your blog and it looks great, so I followed. 🙂 I know it’s pretty unhelpful to just say “it’s great!” but that’s honestly all I can say, I didn’t see anything at all wrong with it. I like your style of writing.

    1. So, I think your blog has a nice layout and that it is very fun and engaging. If you want to get your blog noticed, you should get other bloggers to help you, especially if you have friends on wordpress in which case you should beg for help. Anyways, I followed your blog because it is absolutely amazing.

  4. Hey guys.
A few of you helped me out by checking out my blog so now I want to return the favour. Please comment on this comment(ah, I’m so redundant) if you want me to check your blog out.
If you have time it would not hurt to check my blog out too.
    Have a great day.

  5. Hi guys!

Uuuh, I know I’m kinda late for the pool, but I’d like to join anyway! Just added a drawing to my blog, there’s still just a few posts there, but I plan to make lots more, just you wait!

Soo, why don’t you give me a visit, and see what do you like (and don’t like) from there? 😀

    1. Since you like to write and draw, I like the idea of doing a blend of those. Regarding your promise to yourself to write something each week, I have an alternative method. I tend to write in spurts, a huge amount for a while, then a period of nothing. What I do is create a series of posts during my productive time and schedule them to publish one a week. That takes the pressure off when I am not in writing mode. I don’t have to worry because I already have posts scheduled for several weeks. http://gracelead.co

      1. Ah, a delayed post. I used to do that on my old blog (the one I had before this) and forgot that it’s also an option. Thanks for reminding me! 😀

  6. I’ve joined the party a bit late, I know it’s a crowded place, but I’d also like to hear a comment on my travel blog http://megliovivere.wordpress.com if someone has the time.

I started it over two years ago but have really abandoned it for the last year as I was working on other things (including another blog for an animal rights charity). Now I’m recommencing from where I left off talking about my time spent living and working in Finnish lapland, Thanks. I’d love to read similar blogs too..

    1. I’ve just visited your blog and you have a lovely writing style. I have one suggestion for you: it might be good to set up your about page, as it still has the “this is an example of a page” message.

      1. Sure! Just go to that page while you’re signed in, and there should be an “edit” button right down in the corner where follow buttons pop up on people’s blogs. Click on that, and you’ll be taken to the “edit page” page. Then, just type a little description that introduces you and tells readers what to expect from your blog. Hit “update,” and you’re good to go!

        Hope that’s helpful.

    1. You have interesting thoughts to share. I like your post, “Tell Me I’m Fat.” Your site is easy to navigate and read. One suggestion: I always look for an About page on a blog, hoping to find out the purpose of the blog. You could use content from your first post to create it. http://gracelead.co

  11. hey everyone,
I started this blog after realizing that I didn’t want to lose all of my writing in various notebooks that will never be opened after the last pen stroke. I would love if you could read and give me some feedback!

  12. Hi fellow wanderlusts! I have been blogging since September 2015 when my husband and I decided to remove our kids from state education and travel Europe for a year (or more!). I have been as honest as I can in our blogs, with plenty of reflective thinking. Whilst I have a good facebook following, I don’t know how to attract more followers on WordPress. Any suggestions please? Many Thanks, M x http://www.notallthatwander.co latest blog: http://notallthatwander.co/2016/03/17/the-alchemist/

    1. Hi, there…I posted directly on your post/blog….and, wow….your post, “The Alchemist” is just so wonderfully-awesome…I can so relate to your introspective perspective; and I love the way you craft it/offer it in a way that creates parallels for the reader. Thanks for sharing 🙂

      1. Hi, there! I read a few of your posts…each was so wonderful, and I would’ve commented directly on each–except I couldn’t see that option…sorry, it was probably staring me in the face. Anyway, your book reviews are beyond engaging, the photographs in your latest post are so very strikingly-beautiful, and your writings (as relates to your life, views etc) are fantastic. I’m “following” you…thanks for sharing 🙂

      2. No pressure…my blog is very rudimentary (I am clueless as to how to navigate the blog landscape, but plan to figure it out now that I’m 6 weeks in and have a number of posts). If I could suggest, perhaps you’ll appreciate, “Nightfall: What If There’s A Monster Under My…Breath”, or “She’s Got Bette Davis Thighs”. Frankly, I enjoy each of my (6 main) posts…depending on the day :). Perhaps you can relate to that. At any rate, I wasn’t expecting you to reciprocate–it was such a pleasure to read your blog–but, I am grateful 🙂

  13. Hi, I initially set up my blog back in 2014, friends and family said it would be good to share my frugal ways through it, but I never really did finish setting it up properly so never shared it. Then I have had a roller coaster of a time and have been encouraged more and more to blog, so have decided to take the plunge and do it properly. However, I am a complete novice, I currently am relying on my phone to do it all and have no idea to change how it looks, or even how to attract people to read it, as currently im just a nutter chatting away to myself! Lol.
If anyone can offer me any help/tips/advice on how to do this blogging thing properly I would be very very glad to know! X

  14. Hi, I started my first ever blog today. It’s not lengthy, because before I go all diarrhea with my stories, I wanted to see if people have an interest in my subject matter. Please see my blog below, and let me know what you think. Thank you so much.

  15. Hi – as a working mom with a passion for writing, I figured I’d finally give blogging a try. So far only my husband and sister have read my two posts so I’d love some additional (objective) feedback. Let me know what you think! Any reco’s or suggestions welcome as I’m clearly a novice to the blogging space. Thanks in advance.

    1. Your writing style is enjoyable. It was like talking to a friend over coffee. A couple of things would spruce up your site (1) On your About page, tell us the purpose of your blog, (2) If you can find a graphic or photo of some flats to put with your header, that would make it more visually appealing. Overall, you are off to a good start. http://gracelead.co

    1. Your header is colorful and eye-catching. I recommend copying the content of your Let’s Talk About Us post to your About page where future viewers will be able to find it. Next, consider what topics you will generally use for posts and make these categories. For instance, you might want to start with two Fashion and Makeup. Then write a short post on a fashion tip and assign it to the Fashion category and a short post with a make up tip and assign it to the Makeup category. http://gracelead.co

    2. When you create a post, you should see an option on the right hand side that lets you add a category or select one you’ve already created.
