Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

      1. unique: I like your blog. very interesting posts and the pictures are nice. poor baby, I had an early bird too. it’s hard. the only suggestion I have is to use far less emojis. they distract from the words instead of enhancing them. IMO

    1. Linds…I think your blog is terrific. Posts are intelligent and well written. the ONLY thing I would change is the size of your writing font. It is hard to read with bi-focals. Other than that just keep writing. http://www.suziland.net by the way, I am following you so please keep writing.

  1. I write about how grieving a child has changed and is changing my life.

I would love to know how to make my page layout more user friendly. I am relatively new to blogging and not great at advanced computer skills–any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Hey Nerds! My name is mckelodeon, and I run the nerd culture blog, Nerd•ily!

This week, I have some very special posts I will be sharing by guest geek bloggers. This weekend is C2E2, an awesome convention that takes place in Chicago. Last year, I dedicated a whole week leading up to the event, and this year I wanted to make C2E2 Week even better! Even if you’re not going to C2E2, hopefully you’ll still enjoy the wonderful selection of con-themed posts! Here is today’s installment from Sadie by Design!

    1. I really don’t get the whole cosplay thing and wonder why intelligent, geeky, nerdy people don’t embrace themselves more. Roar – this is who I am in society – rather than seek release via a costume. I believe writing forces one to think, putting concepts into words, sentences, paragraphs. Nerds and geeks read, so you’ll always find an audience.

      1. Cosplay isn’t so much about hiding as it is exploring a new aspect of yourself. For the woman that’s shy, maybe she chooses to cosplay as Batgirl to feel empowered. Or for the man that feels like he doesn’t have a place in this world, perhaps cosplay allows him to find his niche, which can open up doors into different aspects of geek and nerd culture. There are many reasons why people choose to cosplay. I know for myself, I cosplay because, most of the time, I am in environments that aren’t necessarily accepting of those cultures. Cosplaying is a release for me, to get my nerd on in an accepting atmosphere. That’s why this concept was put into words for this week, so that others might be able to understand it better.

Also, I love the variety of your blog, and I can’t believe you’ve kept it up for almost four years! Good luck on your journey!

    1. you start out by completing the about me page. just a very short account of either who you are or why you are writing a blog. then you add individual posts about whatever it is that you’d like your blog to be about. they pop up on your home page.

      1. Is it that you can’t find any of my posts? When you come to my blog it will bring you to the about page then down to the right is recent posts and all my posts are listed there. I hope this helps you.

    1. Commenting on other’s blogs and even search for a specific poetry tag can help! There is a huge community of poets on WordPress and interacting with others can help.

Do you have tags for your poetry?
Do you have categories for your poetry?
Is your post formatted for search engines?

Also, try working on your layout and design. A lot of people are attracted to blogs with an attractive layout. Also, I would edit your About Me page. This can be an explanation of your poetry style, an introduction to who you are as a poet, or simply a description of what you write about. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions! Keep writing! 🙂

      1. Thanks so much…. Yes I’ve noticed the tags and have been using them but didn’t know about the search engine part. I’m make sure I take tome out to update and look into the others things you mentioned as well

      1. Thanks for the compliment. Oh! That’s a very good thing but I guess confession don’t always need to be anything we’ve done, it could be anything we’ve seen or felt. Anyways, thanks for responding. 🙂

    1. Hello, Skootz!
You should contact uniquebeautypoetry earlier in the thread and talk to a fellow poet. The beautiful thing about poetry is that it comes from the heart.(Page 2) In my opinion, there is really no wrong way to write poetry. Keep writing and expressing yourself!

If you would like help from fellow poets, try searching for some on the Discover site using either Tabs or Categories. Let me know if you have any questions!

    1. wow, Deepak, that is a very busy home page. I got confused trying to see what the blog was about. It took me a while to realize it wasn’t a sales site actually. Maybe you could less color boxes? wow, I can’t believe I said that, but the colors pop out all over the place and it is distracting. hope that helps.

  5. Hello! Right now, my blog is just a hobby blog to get my creative juices flowing, and honestly to release stress. Most of the content is about my perspective on life and I share some personal stories, as well. I would love advice about my layout, content, or anything else someone has to offer. Thank you!

    1. Hi there, just checked out your blog! Your recipes look super tasty…mmmm pie 🙂 Just FYI, I did have a little bit of trouble with some large ads opening in new windows. I only mention it because it distracted me from your recipes for a moment!

I recently started a food blog as well – if you get a chance, let me know what you think!

  8. Hi all! I started my blog a couple of months ago (food and wellness) and would love feedback! Also, how do you get more interaction on your blogs? Any tips for moving forward? Thanks so much!

    1. When it comes to interaction on my blog, I make sure to check out different blog pages and comment on a post that I find interesting on their page. I find that bloggers love having conversations with other bloggers or people in general.

  9. Hello everyone, regular contributor to this thing here. I’m a photographer and my blog is about exactly that, photography.
I shoot both digital and on film, street and landscape, and am always on the lookout for feedback and fresh pairs of eye’s to take a look and let me know what they think.

Here’s a couple of examples of recent post’s, would love to hear the view’s of anyone. What you like? What you don’t like? what I’m terrible at? Hey be as “constructive” as you like.

This is a post of a long running street photography series taken on black & white film that I update pretty regularly, this is instalment 14.

Street Photography – Cardiff Streets 14

And here’s a recent post from my 52 week project that is, as the name suggest’s, update every week for 52 week’s. Currently this is week 11.

    Project 52: Week 11; Landscape – Reflection

Look forward to hearing your views.

    1. Reflections in water can be downright majestic. Consider seeking them out in a canoe or kayak, early mornings with zero breeze, calm flat waters. Best of luck with the photography. No matter how much I shoot, delete, edit, post, I find myself wanting to do it again, and again. Hopefully you do too.

    2. When I saw that you are a photographer, I just had to look. I love photography. When I was younger, my brothers would ask me- “Why do you take pictures of sleeping dogs and the same spot of the river EVERY year and …..”

My favorite picture on your site so far is the Beach Boot. About a year ago, I took a similar picture of a flip-flop on the bluffs. 🙂

      Keep snappin’ away.

    1. Great stuff, I like it a lot. All we do on the internet, leaves a trail of digital dust. Its damn tough to truly, legally, protect, all pictures and text, posted on the internet. How do enforce theft, copying, on a worldwide scale.

  10. Hi!

I’m currently working on a blogging project. I’d love to know who are some people (that are not well-known) that inspire you? Some people that try to make a change through a project (organization, book, speaking events, blog etc.)? 🙂

    Liked by 3 people

    1. Hi what would this project be? Are you collating stories and comments from people on who people who have inspired them? Are you planning on doing a single post of that information or a longer running series of them or just using it in a more general way?

      Liked by 2 people

      1. Hi,
I’m planning on a long running series. Each post would be a ‘portrait’ of someone trying to make a change, based on questions I would ask them about themselves & their own project which makes their peers consider them as ‘inspiring’.

This is my first blog and I wondered if you could have a look and leave me feedback on the content, layout etc.
My blog focuses on PTSD and anxiety mainly and I want to make sure it’s a positive focused space where others can relate and know they aren’t alone.

    Thanks in advance
