Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. I could use a good, hard read. Nothing to fear or get your ire. I promise to be non-judgmental and just point the way. The Dalai-lama says people choose different ways for fulfillment, but there is only one truth. There are lots of Christians here. I’d like to hear your opinion. Anybody else think Jesus is good or bad- climb on. Do you like my presentation? J

    1. My suggestion would be to break that long post into several shorter posts. You’ve made some good points that some will miss because they don’t read through it all. Please add an About page to your site to tell us the purpose of your blog. My biblically-based leadership site is an example of shorter posts… http://gracelead.co

  2. Hi everyone! I am getting better everyday at writing so I’m thinking about starting a new collection series. I am very nervous because as you know collection series are longer and require very good writing and I’m not sure if I am ready. Please stop by my blog check out my categories of stories and story lessons. Then read a couple, and comment of what you think.
(You can find my “about” at the top right corner with a white box with lines and click it) My categories are on the left corner same looking box! Click and explore!

      1. Thank you very much! It really is my first post, but not the first thing I wrote. It is part of something I am writing in my own language and I translated this part to English.

  3. Regarding the post, you expressed yourself well. Your site is attractive and easy to navigate. On your About page, you might want to tell us the purpose of your blog. Is it for self-expression or are you wanting to be helpful to others who may be having similar experiences? http://gracelead.co

    1. Once you write another post, my suggestion is to take what you have now and place it on an About page where new visitors can easily find it in the future. If you have any social media accounts, you can share your blog to those where more people can see it. Another idea is to search for blogs similar to yours and put comments on some of their posts. That will help more people find your blog. http://gracelead.co

  5. I would love to have a wider audience to talk to everyday. I write about my journey through self-discovery. I write on relationship advice. I want to have conversations on topics that inspire conversation and different opinions. It would be great if we could all motivate each other and I want my platform to be the place we can have great conversations and ask questions.
    So letss go ..

    1. Your blog layout is appealing. I read your first post. What I like most is the understated humor. It was fun to read. A couple of things to consider are (1) Categories and (2) About page. Categories: If you can think of topics that you tend to use for posts, it would help to make those categories. Then, assign each post to a category. This makes it easier for a reader to find everything related to a topic that interests him. About Page: Please add an About page that tells us the purpose of your blog. http://gracelead.co

      1. I appreciate the feedback. I really like the idea of a category page, but I am not sure I know how to categorize my posts. I understand the technical part, but I don’t know what words would best sum up my posts. Certainly some could be about a) cycling b) commuting but beyond that…. I just want to write about things that make me smile.
As for an about page….I thought the “Finding the perfect” was my about page. I guess it isn’t that obvious. What did you think when you saw that title in the bar? Could you suggest another title that isn’t “about” just because it is a little bland.
I will definitely think about the things you have suggested. Thanks again..

      2. Perhaps, “About Perfect” would give a hint that it’s your About page. On categories, if you think you will do several post related to cycling and commuting, those would be good categories. For other categories think about the places you tend to be when something makes you smile.

    1. Hi there! I’ve just been on your blog – thoroughly enjoyed your post on Beijing – well put together, engaging and thoroughly enjoyable to read. Had a lovely pace. I think my only bit of ‘constructive criticism’ (sorry I hate that term too but couldn’t think of better) would be to avoid repetition in the writing. Some people love it but I think it detracts (i.e. ‘fun fact!’, ‘random fact!’). I totally love the photos – great composition and showed a nice slice of the culture you were discussing. I’ll be dropping by to catch some more of your posts for sure.

  6. Hello everyone!!

I officially created my own url and have started building my portfolio over the past few months. I would love some feedback on the layout and content. My goal is to write with transparency and encourage others to love people and give generously, not expecting anything in return.

    Thank you! Visit loveoutrageouslyandgivefreely.com

    1. What can I say? Your site is lovely. It is visually appealing. The photos or graphics next to each post are appealing and relate well to the content (at least for the ones I read). You write from the heart and express yourself clearly. Your About page makes the purpose of your blog clear. The only suggestion I have for you to consider is to add Categories. If you can think of your typical topics, these could be your Categories. You could then assign each post to a category. If a reader is most interested in a category it would make it easier to find those posts. http://gracelead.co

      1. Thank you so much!! I have been considering adding categories, so thank you for that feedback. I will definitely start working on creating categories and getting more organized.
