Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. I develop DIY beauty products and make soaps, and blog about my adventures (and misadventures)! I’m very new to this, with only about a dozen posts made, but I would love feedback from anyone who is interested.
    Much appreciated!

  3. Hey everyone! I recently started a blog and I’d LOVE it if I could get some feedback. There’s still a lot of work left to do including the layout and theme but I’m still working on it. I’ll mostly write about random stuff I find interesting like books or food or basically anything that I’m into at the time.

I have always been paranoid about getting married.. paranoid about losing my freedom.. my space … my individuality… basically my life as I know it. Love makes you do crazy stuff… well .. it got me married..

I am a … in your face… I am snoot cos I know better… don’t give a shit about tradition/ culture if it stands in the way what I believe in…… a disreputable feminist having to be a ” RESPECTABLE MARRIED WOMAN”

    1. First, you write very, very well 🙂 Second, I loved your post…so honest and heart-felt. At it’s very core, what you are experiencing is something we can all relate to–working so hard and believing that is all it takes to succeed and make our dreams come true–only to find that it might not happen within the time-frame we had in mind…or in the way we had expected. ‘Such a hard pill to swallow…but, have faith…hard work always pays off in the end 🙂 I am “following you”. If you’d like, you can find me at http://www.trulyunplugged.com (just an invitation…I will ‘follow’ you regardless).

  5. I wrote my first blog last night and would love some feedback.

    This is the beginning…my beginning

The purpose of my blog is two fold, I’m starting a women’s wellness retreat in west Texas but before I do, I want to prove to myself that the program I’m developing actually works! This blog is about my own journey, not just in eating and exercise but in life balance, being a mom, a wife and preserving who I am as an individual. I don’t want it to sound like a sales pitch, if women follow my journey and find inspiration without coming to my wellness retreat, I’m totally fine with that! Please let me know if I should be more subtle in talking about the retreat in my blog. Also, I’m new to blogging, so any advice, on tags, categories, etc. I took a stab at that and would appreciate any guidance. I look forward to reading your blogs and providing feedback as well!

  9. Hello, i love this post and the idea of the community pool. I’m a swimmer of over 20 years and grew up in my community pool so this post really grabbed my attention. I started my blog last year and still learning how to navigate the site and which direction i want to take it. It started with covering all things faith fashion and fitness specifically because i’m an entrepreneur restructuring my health and fitness company. However most of my post have been more along the lines of community building, offering resources to help elevate underprivileged communities. My question is regarding the site layout. I want it to be easy to navigate but not sure how I’m doing yet. Please visit the site and let me know if have any ideas on improving how to navigate site easier. My final question is regarding checking how many followers you have. In my dashboard it says less than 10 and shows who they are. However, when you hit the follow button on the blog it says, you will be joining 1500 other followers. which is correct?

    1. Hello there! I’ve just visited your blog, and it’s really awesome. My one tip (and I know almost nothing about this so I could be completely wrong) is that for search engine optimisation, it might help if you titled your posts with something other than the date. I do, however, see the reason behind your titling decision; it’s just worth being aware of, probably. Anyway, great blog, and I think it’s so cool that you’re learning French.

      1. Thanks. I’ll think of some other name. It’s really only a temporary thing (apart from having that blog, everything is really) so it’ll change soon. I said in my comment on community pool that I’d help anyone who helped me but I have nothing really to say apart from that it’s amazing.

      2. I think that’s a great strategy, actually. Just getting something out there, even if it’s temporary, and changing things later if it becomes necessary. Smart! You are far too kind, thank you. If you ever have any criticisms though, please do feel free to tell me.

  10. Hello all!
I recently revamped my blog (https://themarvelousadventureblog.wordpress.com), and I am trying to turn it into an online resource for travel, social issues, and art. I am having trouble learning how to control the layout to turn it into a more “magazine-like” feel. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it! Also, please let me know if you think my current posts on travel are useful and how I can improve! Thank you 🙂

  11. Hi, everyone…I’m hoping some of you will read/comment on my post (March 23/26) “Night-Fall: What If There’s A Monster Under My….Breath?!” It’s the latest in my regular/weekly postings. Feedback is greatly appreciated….I’m grateful to be getting lots and lots of “views” (and Community Pool has had much to do with that), but feedback is another matter…absent that, it’s kind of like sitting in a job interview, or presenting something in front of the class, and everyone just stares at you–and you’re not sure if they are diggin’ what you’re sayin’. 🙂 Lastly, being techno-challenged, my blog has no bells and whistles…it’s as plain and stripped down as you can get–but it’s well worth the don’t-judge-a-book-by-its-cover perusal (said with all humility 🙂 Thank you so much…you know I will reciprocate 🙂
