Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. I really enjoy your layout and the organization it yields!! I can’t truly help with getting yourself noticed though because I have yet to start myself..Sorry! I just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed your post about being romantic! 🙂

  1. Umm…hello!
I just started my blog and have yet to deck it out with all the cool tabs and exciting visuals, but I have created my first post and would be ecstatic to hear some feedback from the women in this pool! No offense men, but let’s be honest you don’t suffer monthly visits from Aunt Flow :p I suppose my main question is if the post is engaging, and a secondary question is whether you think readers prefer list type posts as opposed to a long essay-like structure? I truly would appreciate any and all feedback! Thank you ahead of time!!!

    2. This was such a funny read and boy can I relate! I’m a newbie too but my blog is geared towards photography. It took me a while to get my blog looking half decent so don’t worry about that for now as that will all come in time – the main thing is the content and that you do have. All the best and keep going 🙂

    1. I loved it! I thought it was witty and self-revealing which is just my style! As far as graphics and such go, I’m behind myself as well, but I think the content should be what really matters! At least to start! 🙂

  2. Hello. I’ve just started a blog for talking about books and providing analysis on them. I would really appreciate any feedback. To those who like and comment, I like and comment (and probably follow) in return. This is not my first blog, but it’s the first one that I’ve done on a subject I’m actually passionate about.

    Thank you!

  3. Hi everyone! I thought I’d try my hand at this blogging thing, and wrote my first post today about depression. If people like my style of writing and content I’m hoping to turn it into a weekly blog about my experience with depression, and in particular the practice of “mindfulness” as a potential treatment. I know that I find comfort in reading about other people who suffer with mental health – it’s nice to feel that you’re not alone. Just looking for some feedback on my writing style and whether anyone would be interested in this becoming a weekly thing! Also any tips on blogging in general as I’m a complete newbie 🙂 You can find my page at https://sadaptation.wordpress.com Thanks in advance!

  8. Hi everyone! I have recently start blogging mainly because I want to find my vision as a designer. For a designer it is really important if he/she serves for the good and or for the dark side. I am not a native English speaker and I was wondering if my posts are clear and powerful to transmit the idea. Any advices on how I can be a better communicator while writing? Here check one of my recent posts: https://insightsbysu.wordpress.com/2016/03/16/brain-obesity/
I’m browsing very cool blogs, I did not know that this platform can be so inspiring! Thanks a lot for making it.

  10. I’ve recently decided to start my blog and am trying to cover all sorts of topics. It was to be my self help journey, as I come out the other side of some tough times but thought that it might encourage others to explore and recover also. When I started https://wordpress.com/posts/indiablue.co.uk just a few weeks ago I thought that it would be mainly nice photographs, the occasional observation and the poetry which I have written over the years. Little did I know that creativity would actually kick in and I have written more in the past couple of months than in about 20 years. So Do you feel that your writing style changes the longer you write your blog for. Mine seems to be all over the place right now and a bit raw at times. But if anyone can give me constructive feedback, as to how I’m doing that would be great. Thank you!

I recently started blogging as I enjoy to write and have lost a lot of weight and got into shape after years of being unhealthy and chubby I have so many people asking how I did etc so I thought use use my blog to help share my story and give advice, would love any advice on how to make my blog more appealing and get more readers as I really want to help people who are stuck in a rut, I don’t really know what I’m doing all I know is how to write and then publish? Any advice on just about anything would be helpful, feeling a bit lost. Thank you x

    1. I really enjoy your writing style. I am about to embark on my own fitness journey and started blogging about it last night. I look forward to reading your past blogs about your adventures in exercise and eating and THANK YOU for keeping it real! I’m on the fence about posting pics of myself as I make progress, for exactly the reason you pointed out in the most recent blog. I don’t want readers to get the impression that I’m hitting the workouts hard everyday and eating awesome all the time, and make it look easy and not realistic. I want to show my struggles as well. What are your thoughts on posting selfies of your progress?
