Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi Guys,

I like writing. But I have not honed this up until this new thing called blogging came into the scene. I like punching lines, quoting, and probably extend later doing theme writing…just like what I used to do during elementary and high school years. Please have time to see and appreciate your comments–Aha-in-Mind Sparkles.

    1. I enjoyed reading about Max.

I love that you’re giving these dogs the attention they deserve and raising awareness.

I followed your blog because I genuinely would like to continue seeing more posts. Keep up the great work!

      1. I’ve commented and followed your blog. I’m so glad to read about dogs and this breed in particular. I’m a rescue pet owner myself. My only feedback would be to perhaps add a bit more info on the breed and why they’ve become so despised by many, otherwise, it’s a lovely article with great photos. Keep it up! I really enjoyed it!

    1. Would love to see more posts
If interested – Here are my suggestions –
      Add a “About” page.
The background “Alien faces” can interfere with the content and can be distracting
      Tag your posts.
      Happy Blogging 🙂

    1. I’d like to see you write a second version of this poem. I think there is a specific story behind your poem and you have only hinted at it so far.

  3. Hi,
I write short stories on my blog and I find that my readership has been lagging behind recently. Is it something I did?
I also noticed that this particular niche I chose is not popular with bloggers in my part of the world (Africa). How can i get more readers to my blog?

    1. I really liked your story: Happiness. I wish it was a little longer. A little more of an explanation of how happiness felt to the Magician after being so static for a majority of the story. Maybe I’m being selfish, I just wanted to keep reading 🙂

I am also new to blogging, and the advice I have been given to get more views is to follow other blogs and participate in community posts like this one, and make sure you’re offering your feedback and not just receiving it.

      Good luck!

    1. I really enjoyed reading your blog. I read a few of your posts and enjoyed reading them.

I like the clean layout of your blog too.

Sorry I don’t have any tips for my views but I think your blog is greater than you think. I’ve followed you too x

  4. Hi guys,
I always have so many thoughts running around in my mind, and have thought about starting a blog for a long time now to get this organised mess out of my head onto paper, and I’ve finally decided to do it! I want to try and cover a range of topics from travelling, to fashion and beauty to philosophical/deep thoughts.

Here’s a link to my first blog post (this one is for the girls):

  6. Hi fellow bloggers, today I take all my courage and jump into the community pool! I recently started blogging about my healing journey from PTSD, depression and anxiety. Seems, this is not a very popular theme for a blog. Anyone else out there who wants to connect? I wrote two posts on my journey which you might like to check (confusion & do I have a recovery story?) I also blog about all things beautiful – mostly about self-care, beauty and my amateur photography

    1. Hi! I really like your “most scattered entry.” Really, though I don’t think it was scattered at all. That’s just love. It is a whirlwind and it is fast and it is nerve-wracking. I can relate so much, because I often say the same things about my Fiancé, he taught my heart to beat again. 🙂 I think it is so awesome that you say “…do everything I need to better myself in hopes that one day I will be strong, and exceptional enough to deserve him.” I hope he knows how lucky he is to have you!

Wishing you two all the happiness in the world! 🙂

    1. Hi!! I really enjoyed The Sloth Judgment! I was grabbed in the first paragraph because I have such a hard time seeing how intrusive our species are, so I was really happy to see that I’m not alone in that 🙂

    1. Love your post about anxiety. I am now a follower of yours. Anxiety seems to be an issue for so many, including plaguing my house. I think you are absolutely on the right path. Concise and well written!

      1. Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate you! I think it is definitely a growing issue. People seem to think success is measured by how thinly you can spread yourself with the hope to gain recognition along the way. Sorry to ramble. I just don’t think life is too short, although that is popular belief. It’s just a matter of how much of a rush you are in 🙂

Please let me know how the mantra works for you if you decide to try it! Thanks again! 🙂

      2. I sure will. My 14 year old needs to try it most definitely. I’m a nurse who sees everyone taking things for anxiety and I just read a study about how there is so much more anxiety now than even depression. I agree with you completely.

      3. Oh, I know! Everyone is looking for that magical pill that will take everything away immediately. What they don’t see is that it is only creating something bigger underneath, not to mention it doesn’t solve the initial problem at all. Eventually you have to realize you’re strong enough to face things head on and have confidence in yourself. I’d like to get into a deeper post about my journey through my depression and anxiety, it’s a matter of talking myself into it! I try not to look over my shoulder too often!

      4. Do it! Go for it! Maybe do it in little steps, like chapters that your followers can follow, for lack of any other creative term at the moment!
I’ve talked about anxiety, losing my mother, spending time with my dad, depression, and I just find it’s very cathartic and encouraging when others like the posts. It must mean I’m doing something right. I’d like to encourage others to do the same. It’s one of the reasons I write. I know others out there are going through the same times and things I am.

      5. Thank you for the encouragement! Writing has always been a coping mechanism for me, but I kind of dropped it when I moved past the issues I was dealing with. I really missed it, so I started this blog.. It’s been a little difficult because it used to always channel into really dark creative writing, so I’ve been trying to learn how to write “happy.” 🙂

    2. First off, the tagline “Nama-Stay Calm” is hilarious!
I really liked this post, repeating the mantra in different forms really helped break up the text and make it easier to read. Another way you can do this in longish posts is by using sections with headers, etc., so readers can get an idea of the post as a whole by skimming. The personal touch by specifying which ones you say daily (bolded) is really nice too. Good work! I’m also trying to get the hang of blogging regularly, always good to keep ourselves writing 🙂

      1. Thank you so much! I have a post that I stuck on the shelf because I thought it was too long and would be too much for a reader to get through. I will definitely add in some of the large headers to see if that breaks it apart a little bit.

Thank you so much for the tip!!

  9. Hello fellow bloggers!
I am just starting up my Gap Year travel blog. I am away from home for 3 months travelling to Japan, Cambodia and Australia. If anyone is interested in my journey and what I am getting up to please take a look. And also on my Insta @martha_0. Peacee

    1. Such a cute DIY! Maybe for your next post, add a little bit of text between the pictures with a general overview of what steps you had to do, so people can read about what your process is like. Don’t get too detailed because it doesn’t look like you want to run a how-to DIY blog, but maybe just give us a little bit of insight into the work you put in 🙂

    1. This is such a cool idea for a blog! I followed immediately. Your posts are really cool, just keep an eye out for grammar basics (like capitalizing I’s every time!) to make it look as polished and professional as possible 🙂

      1. Maybe try typing your posts in Microsoft Word or Google Docs first so it can catch the grammar for you? Then paste it into WordPress and format it! Hope that helps, feel free to check out my blog too 🙂

      2. I checked out your blog. It seems like a fun personal blog. A lot of interesting topics too. And I think it would be appealing to the 20s crowd… I might be a little too old. One comment I would suggest that I learned the hard way, is that you might want to develop a stronger theme for your blog. It was hard to know what your focus was just by scanning your posts. I had to redo my own blog I think three times now to figure out what my goal and message was.

I really like the idea of discussing how to find yourself. After graduation is a tough time and these types of blogs can help you and others through the process.

      3. Thank you for the thoughtful response! I agree, I need a stronger focus–right now I’m just trying to get used to writing regularly, so once I have more content I’m going to adapt it to whatever I have been writing about most naturally. Thanks!

      4. It will also be easier to identify once you have more writing. I ended up deleting about half of my early posts and reworking the other half
