The place for feedback, advice, and friendly blogging chatter.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
Did you just start blogging and you’re not sure how to get going? Has your blog been dormant for a while but you’d like to give it a jolt of life? Join our free Blogging 101 course (or any of our other offerings at Blogging U.).
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:
TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

I love your blog. I’m a new blogger and really don’t have much up yet, but I am working on it. I’m an assistant principal at a disciplinary alternative program and I plan to write on my experiences over the years….kind of a tell all of what it’s really like. I’m working on my first “big” post about it, but so far I’ve just been practicing with small stuff, etc. I’m hoping to finish my thoughts this by the end of the week. I just finished writing about my experiences about the Blackdown Army Cadet Training Center. I split the story into two parts (with one more to come.) Can I have some advice on my writing?
Part 1: https://colinblogsite.wordpress.com/2016/01/22/blackdown-part-1/
Part 2:https://colinblogsite.wordpress.com/2016/01/29/blackdown-ctc-part-two-the-blackdown-burglar/

Hi Colin – I can imagine your blog will be useful for other Army Cadets. It’s very smooth reading and the photos break things up beautifully.
The one thing I’d worry about is giving away so much info about an Army establishment, with aerial photos etc. Have you cleared it with the top brass at the base?
Good luck with your blog
Best wishes

I don’t see any problem with using the images, as most of them were retrieved via Google Images. There are also other stories of the CTC online, and nobody seems to have a problem with them.
Also, I’m pretty sure that nobody at the camp even knows my blog exists.

Hi Tom – I’m guessing, from the tone of your blog, that you’re aiming it at American readers? I can imagine they’ll find your interest and opinions interesting, and you weren’t rude at all, so you behaved like a polite guest.
I can see you exaggerating some of the differences between the US and the UK for effect – but you’d find it hard to find a place in England or Wales where the SNP was an option. In the US they do have their ‘third party’ presidential candidates – the Veterans Party, the Worker’s World Party, the Libertarians, the Green Party etc. Money rules politics in the US so the ‘other’ candidates find it harder to get their voices heard beyond their own local area.
And, before I forget, yes, you can vote in General and European elections but not local elections, but once you stay away for 15 years, you can’t register to vote in any UK elections.
LikeLiked by 3 people
Thanks for reading! This post was aimed at an American audience indeed (not all of the posts I write are). You are right about the SNP not being an option in England or Wales and I should have included that but there are English and Welsh parties like Plaid Cymru, English Democrats etc so the high amount of variety is maintained. I need to read up more on the “other” parties, as far as I understand it they don’t have enough support to seriously challenge anywhere hence the 2 party system. Thanks so much for the feedback, I really appreciate it. 🙂

I have three blogs. One is book reviews and summery, on is just some dumb creative writing and the last one is Books vs Movies. My biggest problem is punctuation and grammar mistakes.
LikeLiked by 3 people
Without links, we can only access the one through your name. So I checked that one out and your grammar/punctuation doesn’t seem too bad at all, but if you’re concerned, then do writing in MS Word or use some other online grammar checker to make sure it’s correct.
But I must say that accessing posts is a little complicated. Perhaps make a link to them in the top menu?
