Community Pool

The place for feedback, blogging advice, and friendly chatter.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Did you just start blogging and you’re not sure how to get going? Has your blog been dormant for a while but you’d like to give it a jolt of life? Join our free Blogging 101 course (or any of our other offerings at Blogging U.).

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. Adding pictures in your posts makes the reading experience better!
And speaking of pictures, while the image you have as your background is lovely, it is unfortunately blocked by the text so what is visible is just the sides and it doesn’t look as nice as it should (go see your blog to see what I mean) so just consider using a different image or formatting it or something.
      Happy Blogging!

  3. Hello Blog World. I need help, I am sending my blog to people via email, adding them in a group and copy and pasting them to a “BCC” for privacy reasons. So what am I asking is this: 1. Does anyone also do this? Send their blog posts via e-mail to people in “BCC” If so, Is their a easier, faster way to do send it privately without copy and pasting and showing all their emails openly? 2. When I send my blog posts via e-mail, because I do this, I get people who tell me verbally in person over the phone “Where can I comment?” When I tell them on my blog, they say “Oh, but I don’t want to sign-up on another platform (wordpress), me getting them via email is good enough.” Is their a way or program out their that I can use my blog posts to include a comment section if I copy and paste it unto an email and it will show up on my wordpress blog? (eh, if this sounds confusing, I can try to ask the questions more clearly.”

  4. I just started a new blog on reading classic literature, essays, poetry or novels. and writing. I’m torn between posting often on my reading progress or adding to a post on a book I’m reading or writing about. Waiting until I finish reading a piece or writing a piece would have me rarely posting but it seems silly to sometimes only have a paragraph or too two discuss how difficult the reading is or that I”ve had to read the same chapter 10 times to understand it.
I haven’t seen anyone doing what I”m doing so I have no frame of reference. Oh the design of my blog is not such that its a single page of consecutive posts. The front page is full of samples of each posts. Yes, I could change themes but, I’ve worked so hard on this look. Any advice?

If you are from USA, Asia, NZ, Aussie etc. you may be interested because in fact you can find out where Santa Claus originate from 🙂
Also, I would love to meet new people here which are interested in traveling, lifestyle and art topic. So comment me your link and I will be happy 🙂
