Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Did you just start blogging and you’re not sure how to get going? Has your blog been dormant for a while but you’d like to give it a jolt of life? Join our free Blogging 101 course (or any of our other offerings at Blogging U.).

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi gang, I e recently started a new blog BUT I know that 30 yrs since “proper schooling” my grammar must suck. I’m writing on an iPad, any advice for apps that can edit my stream of conscious writing?

  2. Hey there everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start! A few days ago I had the completely crazy idea to start a blog and now that I have a few posts up I would love for the opportunity to have some feedback from anyone that has the time/chance (:

I can’t say it has a specific theme, basically just have a poem I have written and a couple ranting posts. I am still a newbie trying to discover what I want out of my blog so I invite you to join me on my journey 😀 ! Any comments or feedback is welcome and I will definitely return the favor (after all I need some blogs to follow for inspiration as well as entertainment)!

Thank you in advance and I hope you all have a great week!!

    1. Hi
I have left a comment on your blog for you. I was going to comment on your about page but there doesn’t seem to be a comment section.
Well done for starting your blog.
Can I suggest you add some images t your posts to make them more eye catching.
The post – Everything Happens For A Reason – is a bit on the long side.
The next thing would be to experiment with widgets and the layout of your blog.
      Keep it up.
If you are not sure what I mean about use of images and widgets, you are welcome to check out my blog.

[2] i tend to call myself the Grinch as Christmas approaches but it’s often just about how early i hear my first Christmas Carol in a store [so good year this year] but if you want to hear what i REALLY think about Christmas, check this post out: https://brettfish.wordpress.com/2015/11/23/tis-the-season-to-be-grinchy

[3] i am busy reading and being thoroughly challenged by Ron Sider’s ‘Rich Christians in an Age of Hunger’ and have been sharing one chapter in sections as it contains a lot worth thinking about and wrestling with: https://brettfish.wordpress.com/2015/11/23/prosperity-as-a-blessing-from-god

  4. Hi just had a look at our blog. It’s an interesting concept. I like the looks of your blog. You could add a ‘Blog’ section to your header menu. It would make is easier to navigate and allow readers to see all your different posts together. You could also add some more detail to your ‘About’ page. I hope this helps from Debra @ https://cultivatingtime.wordpress.com/

  6. Hello, All!
I posted on here before about the blog that I started a few days ago. Please, feel free to come by and tell me what you think. My topics can at times be personal, as I discuss mental illness, and domestic violence, but I am also trying to post other things as well. I don’t want it to seemed bogged down by serious topics. As human beings we all need a distraction or reason to laugh from time to time.
I would love any feedback or advice that you may have to offer. I’m not great with technology, and based off of other blogs, I don’t think that I am doing the tag, or category thing quite right. To be honest; I’m also not entirely sure what half of the buttons are for, or how to change things around. Any help would be appreciated, and maybe you will find something that can help you too!

There are always other hands in the dark ❤

    Lovingly,
    Leona

People in Kuwait definitely need this, there is no concept of being environment friendly or recycling here, lol anyway.
I’m fairly new to blogging and just started 2 weeks ago,let me know what you think of my blog http://www.urbanexpatgirl.com.
Hopefully I will soon start writing about serious topics 😀

  7. Hiya everyone! I have been blogging on and off for about a year now…my blog is https://thecoloursofautumn.wordpress.com and my latest post was ‘not pretty enough’ any feedback on the theme or my content will be very much appreciated! Do you guys like the header picture? If anyone would like to give blogging tips that would be greatly as well. Thanks!

    1. I love the topic! seriously, just today I was telling someone being pretty is so overrated, plus everyone would perceive beauty differently. Feeling confident and being able to shine out with a strong personality is what I think makes someone beautiful to me.

I also like you line ‘ Just another perspective’ Its spot on! technically this is what we are. 🙂

I would like to know your comments on my blog too, Ive just started writing (like 2 weeks back). would like to know your perspective though 😉 Here’s the link http://www.urbanexpatgirl.com

      1. Hey, thanks a lot for your lovely feedback. I checked your blog out and you have some great contents. Although, for the iPad view the black background looks kind of depressing. It’s just a personal suggestion, you should do what you feel like. But I really do agree with you on taking time out for ourselves!

Also I have a concern, my blog doesnt have an option for readers to like my posts, whereas there are some that show this option. How can I enable the ‘Like’ feature in my blog?
Thanking you for your time in advance 🙂 Here’s the link http://www.urbanexpatgirl.com

    1. Hi
For the likes try here – https://wordpress.com/support/likes/.

I like the feel of your blog but it’s quite difficult to navigate – you can only see your recent posts by scrolling right down to the bottom. Can I suggest you add a menu with a ‘Blog’ page and an ‘About Me’ page.

I was going to comment on your posts but I am not keen on having to put my email address etc in order to comment. Maybe consider disabling this – but it’s up to you, it’s your blog.

If you are not sure what I mean by menu pages, feel free to check out my blog.

Keep it up – you’ve made a good start

  9. Hi everyone,
My blog is just my thoughts on different topics; sometimes it’s just small updates on my life; sometimes there are long updates (depends on my time and work). I haven’t been updating properly for the last few days because of my exams, but as soon as they’re done I’ll be back to giving updates with a lot of content in it.
