Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Did you just start blogging and you’re not sure how to get going? Has your blog been dormant for a while but you’d like to give it a jolt of life? Join our free Blogging 101 course (or any of our other offerings at Blogging U.).

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  3. Thank you for the help I have received so far! All of the insight into getting more readers on my blog has been very useful! How do I inspire repeat-viewers? I have attracted many first time viewers to my blog (www.janerunswild.com), but would love advice on maintaining their viewership. Thanks! 🙂

    1. Hi!

I thought it was a beautiful piece. It just reminded me, after a tired day, of the suffering and degradation which the men willingly suffered. I also enjoyed looking around your blog: I love the format of it and your writing style is a joy to read.

Would you mind checking out my blog in return? It’s right here: https://jenzpic.wordpress.com/

    1. Hello!
I really like it! I completely agree with you on every point; social media obsession is dangerous and unproductive. If it didn’t exist, they’d be more talented and hopeful individuals in the world today.

I blog about similar topics to you. I’ve written a post about online dating, if you’d like to check it out!!

  7. Just hoping to get more exposure and more discussion (especially constructive criticism) on my writing blog. It’s mostly a personal writing blog about my thoughts and feelings, dealing with recovery from abuse and issues of love. But there will also be some short stories and eventually some posts about how I write. But in the mean time I’m learning to improve my writing… a lot.

  10. Hey everybody! I have a quick question, what is the difference between a post and a page?? if anyone could answer I would really appreciate it!!! thank you 🙂

    1. Creating a page is like creating a page on a website. It’s good for permanent information that you don’t want pushed down by newer content, such as an “about me” or “Contact Information” page. These can be connected to the menus you use with your theme to make your site easy to navigate. Posts are good for creating a flow of updated, fresh content, since the newest post will be at the top. Your posts will also show up on the front page of most themes, while pages will only show up as a menu option.

My “About Me” and “contact information” leads to pages when clicked in the menu, the stream of content I provide are posts, as an example from my blog. (the other options are links to specific categories of posts)
