November’s classes start Monday — if you’re been thinking about trying Blogging U., now’s the time!
Registration for November’s courses is now closed! See what’s coming up in December.
Ready to commit to better blogging? We’ve got three ways to do it with Blogging U. next month:
- Blogging 101: Zero to Hero (Monday, November 2nd to Friday, November 20th): One new task each day to help you publish, customize your blog, and engage with the blogging community. Learn more.
- Writing 101: Finding Everyday Inspiration (November 2nd to Friday, November 27th): Cultivate a daily writing habit while finding fresh inspiration in unexpected places. Learn more.
- Blogging 201: Intermediate Customization (Monday, November 2nd to Friday, November 13th): An in-depth look at free WordPress.com customizing features. Learn more.
Creating my blog and signing up for the Blogging 101, 201, and Writing 101 courses has given me the confidence to branch out and away from what I had always thought I would write about. I’ve found my voice and I wake up every day itching to write.

How do Blogging U. courses work?
Blogging U. courses exist for one reason: to help you meet your own blogging and writing goals.
- Courses are free, flexible, and open to all.
- You’ll get a task, writing prompt, or tutorial to work on to each weekday at midnight GMT, along with our best advice and favorite resources. Do them on your own time, and interpret them however makes sense for your specific blog and personal goals — we’re not grading you, we’re not checking to make sure you complete every task, and there’s no “wrong” way to use the resources we give you. Weekends are free!
- Each course has a private community site, the Commons, for chatting, connecting, and seeking feedback and support. Daily Post staff and Happiness Engineers will be on hand to answer your questions and offer guidance and resources.
Currently blogless? You’re a click away from sharing your story.

your courses sound fun, but I don’t think I would be able to keep up.

I registered the other day but never got the email. Is the email supposed to go out right before it starts or right after you register?
LikeLiked by 1 person
The emails begin just before the course actually starts – so, Sunday evening, US time.

I want to try this out as I had wonderful experience with Writing 101 poetry! But my exams are starting this November and I won’t be able to post. Can I join just to have updates which I may refer later! I won’t be able to contribute with my writings though

If you’d like, sure! But all these courses will repeat, so there will be lots of other opportunities to participate.

Well in that case, I would love to participate when I can contribute with my writings too! Thanks for taking your time out to reply! 🙂 God bless.

Oh, um, I just started my own blog and I don’t know how to get readers. Maybe you could help me? Anyway, I am autorows, try looking me up. I’d be very grateful if you did!

figure out what’s the main theme of your blog and get in touch with other bloggers with similar interests. Even if your blog does not have a theme you can still look up blogs in your Reader according to what you like to read (and perhaps write) about. After you engage with them and follow them they will follow your blog too and you’ve got readers. It doesn’t happen over night but a lot comes down to engaging with other bloggers, so make some time in your weekly schedule for that.

This is a good start because we are all learning together and can share that experience as well as the focus of our own particular blogs.

Part of what we do in Blogging 101 is help you connect with readers and learn how to keep growing your audience; it’s meant to help you get a handle on the basics of blogging — posting, customizing your site, and developing and audience.
LikeLiked by 2 people
I’m not into connecting with readers or growing my audience. My blog is going to be just info and I”m leaving it up to random chance for folks to find it. That’s good enough for me. That said, I also need all the help in blogging I can get because I’ve never done it before, so I’m looking forward to the classes helping. I’m so busy trying to build my blog that I don’t have time to read others. I also have a full time job, so I’m limited on time. I also don’t think blogging is supposed to be fun, I could be wrong, but I’m struggling with it right now.

Okay, thank you Michelle. I will think about it.

A note: if you have questions or comments for other bloggers, it’d be great if you could head to their sites to chat with them — you can click on anyone’s name to go right to their blog. We try to keep the comments sections here focused on the topic of the post, as it’s a pretty busy place. Thanks!

Oh, Michelle, I checked out the site. It helped out a lot. I just have one question: how do you do links like that?
LikeLiked by 1 person
If you want to include a link, you can just paste/type a whole URL into a comment, like this:
https://wordpress.com/dailypost
If you’re logged into WordPress.com when you leave the comment, your name will automatically be a link to your blog.

I am logged on, but I still do not get it. Can I just do the thing where people click on my name and stuff or do you have to do the link? I do not get it. Plus, I am only a kid so……………..

People can just click on your name; there’s no need to put in another link.

thank you Michelle, I will do that. And my mom is going to talk to my dad about the classes. Her only worry: that bad people will start talking to me without me knowing.

That’s part of what we help you do in Blogging 101! But you can start by reading other blogs and leaving comments there — reaching out to others is the best way to get people to start reaching back to you.
