Registration is open for next month’s Blogging U courses, and there’s something for almost every blogger – Blogging 101, Blogging 201, and Writing 101.
Registration is now closed for all September courses.
September is a big month for Blogging U! Get your blog off the ground with Blogging 101: Zero to Hero, help it reach more readers with Blogging 201: Branding and Growth, or cultivate a writing habit with Writing 101: Finding Everyday Inspiration.
Note: you cannot take Blogging 101 and Blogging 201 at the same time — but both courses run frequently throughout the year, so there are plenty of opportunities!
Blogging 101: Zero to Hero runs from Monday, September 7th to Friday the 25th, and gives you one new task each day to help you publish, customize your blog, and engage with the blogging community. Learn more.
Blogging 201: Branding and Growth runs from Monday, September 14th to Friday the 25th, and helps focus your blog and grow your readership. Learn more.
Writing 101: Finding Everyday Inspiration runs from Monday, September 7th to Friday, October 2nd, and helps you cultivate a daily writing habit while finding fresh inspiration in unexpected places. Learn more.
How do Blogging U. courses work?
Blogging U. courses exist for one reason: to help you meet your own blogging and writing goals.
- Courses are free, flexible, and open to all.
- You’ll get a tasks or writing prompts to respond to each weekday at midnight GMT, along with our best advice and favorite resources. Do them on your own time, and interpret them however makes sense for your specific blog and personal goals — we’re not grading you, we’re not checking to make sure you complete every task, and there’s no “wrong” way to use the resources we give you. Weekends are free!
- Each course has a private community site, the Commons, for chatting, connecting, and seeking feedback and support. Daily Post staff and Happiness Engineers will be on hand to answer your questions and offer guidance and resources.
Ready to register?
Fill out this short form! You won’t receive an automated confirmation, but we’ll send a welcome email with full details just prior to the start of your course(s).

How work intensive is each course? Are they doable if you also have college courses and the like to get done?

I took the Blogging 101 course last year and it is not that work intensive. It is basically one prompt given a day, usually early in the day. And you are given the whole day to complete. Sometimes folks miss it on accident and they end up posting their prompts the next day along with the new one. They just let everyone know in The Commons like : “Hey guys, I got around to posting yesterday’s prompt finally! Please check it out! Thanks”
Or at least that’s what I would do every now and then. Life can get in the way, haha.

Yea! 🙂 sometimes there are prompts that will ask you to reach out to your other fellow bloggers. If you want, you could look on my blog, right side under categories, I sorted out my posts related to the Blogging University course 🙂 to get an idea of the type of cool things they’ll ask of you.

Yes, I am old as dirt and have taken Blogging 101 at the same time as a college class.
This is a no pressure win/win course and I learned immensely from it. If you are beginning blogging it really will assist you. Also, there is great support from the blogging community and the WORDPRESS staff.

I agree. I did 101, 201, and the poetry course (that was great!), but I’ve never done this one. I managed to miss it the last time round. I’m really excited.

Maybe I’ll try poetry next but I’m not a big fan.

I didn’t think I was until I posted a rare one I had written, and it was well recieved. Since then I haven’t been able to stop writing – and reading – poetry.

But it also doesn’t fit with the topic of my blog, I’ll try though.

I don’t know when – or if – Blogging University will be doing another poetry course, but if they do, I’ll be joining again.

The instructions say you will not receive a confirmation of signing up and I cannot recall if I signed up when you posted this earlier. Will it mess anything up if I sign up and have already registered?

Nope, we remove all duplicate signups.

Hey Michelle, I have signed up for the Blogging 201 and Writing 101, and planning to change to Blogging 101 and Writing 101. Is it okay to re sign-up?

Sure. Anyone who registers for both Blogging 101 and 201 will get a note asking them to choose, so you’ll be able to opt out of 201.

Alright, the courses are open again!
I have a question for the admins.
I’ve registered for these courses before, and the old ones still show up on my blog list. I’d like to get rid of them, so how do I do that?

You can leave the blogs by going to My Sites > WP Admin > My Blogs. Hover over the blog title, and a “leave blog” link will appear.

Hi I wonder when you have next blogging 201 after this time. I have to skip this time since my schedule does not match.

There will be a new Blogging 201 course on intermediate customizing in November, and the branding and growth course will be back in December.
