Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi All –
I’m a teacher blogger and brand new (About 2 months old). Most everything I’ve done was through Blogging 101 and 201. My biggest challenge is telling but catchy titles.

I’d also just changed the fonts and they feel a little large to me.

I’m not super convinced about the menu and how to organize it to draw in teachers.

Finally – I’ll take any feedback.

Thanks ahead, I know it’s a lot of questions!

      1. Wow! You may be new to blogging, but not to teaching and it shows in the quality of your blog. It looks really professional but is also warm and inviting. It’s very navigable which would be very helpful for a new teacher. My blog is not a teacher’s blog but is also designed to inspire. Please check it out https://arielklay.wordpress.com/

    1. I recommend getting a twitter. It brings views in. It can be slow but the more you like and reply to other people, the more they click on your profile and your site in your bio. You can see mine for inspiration @jenschwartz798

    1. Love the images and the layout! You have a very nice blog! Only thing is, try to make it seem less like you’re doing them for an assignment and just write freely. Obviously it still will be an assignment, but the reader doesn’t want to think somebody is forcing you to write, does that make sense?

    1. Great posts. I loved what you said about doing charity and the post about conversing with your son was pretty honest too.
As for adding a facebook link, you need a page to link it with, wordpress doesn’t link to profiles

  5. Hey everyone! I decided to start my blog this weekend, and have never done anything like this before. I fear I may have posted too much too soon, but I also wanted to make sure there was enough content to go through for those who did stop by. Any suggestions on keeping people actively looking at your work, other than posts on other social media? Like I said I’m completely new to this and clueless, so any help is much appreciated.

The site is http://www.dezariphotography.com and if you get a chance to look at it and let me know what you think, give suggestions, or criticism I will be in your debt!
    Thanks!!

    1. Your site looks clean and well put together. To keep people engaged, I suggests getting out and commenting on other sites. Also, I just got a suggestion that I want to implement– leave your readers with a question to answer. I hear it pulls people into conversation on your site.

      1. Thank you. Very very good advice. I’ll make sure to use that tactic in our next post. I’ve been so busy putting this blog together I haven’t had a chance to look at others, but that will be a mission for me this week. Thank you again.

    2. As you are a photography blog I would suggest in order to get some interaction with others (maybe like-minded bloggers) you could check out these blogs and maybe participate in their weekly photo challenges. Interaction, as it has been said, is very important. You will then also get feedback and by visiting other blogs you’ll get some inspiration too. http://jennifernicholewells.com/

    3. I really liked your blog. Its clean and a great header images. Add captions to the images, explain who is who or where you are. Add tales of what made you get a tattoo, what it is etc.
I don’t have alot of feedbacks

      1. I appreciate them though, the funny thing is – the tale of the tattoo is as simple as stated haha. “Let’s get tattoos” “Sure why not?” and that’s how it happened! I’ll be sure to add captions to the photos that are not in the gallery to make it easier. Thank you for the suggestions!

  7. Hi Everyone, Super new to this, still trying to work all the different ways to blog, with stories, photos, etc. We are on an amazing adventure right now, a really challenging one too, and we hope that by sharing our story, more people may realise how many of those unrealistic looking opportunities, can actually be realised!

    1. You should write about the adventure. Add photos. I kept clicking on the link thinking there will more to read. Tell us about you, keep writing. Adventure blogs are usually the best.

  8. I am afraid of posting as I am not sure if my post are yet ready. I am writing two articles and I am about to post. Also once it is post it is ok to edit? In case other ideas come up? I don’t have so much exposure as I am not promoting because I don’t have too many post and 0 comments. Please check it and give me some advice. Also it is ok to post other topics that are not so relate to the title of the post?
