Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:
TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Hi everyone!
I’m trying to get more people to read and comment on my novel, which is about a educated American girl who is already in China for a job opportunity, but gets much more than what she expects. I’ve had a critic tell me the first book is really slow, but the second book has a much better start. Would you mind reading the first half of the first chapter of the second book and maybe leave a comment? Ideas on how to improve is also welcomed. Will reciprocate.
Thanks!

I think your poems are wonderful! They’re focused and well-thought-out. Of the 5 or 6 I read, I understand and I can relate.
“Oldboy” – communication is used as a weapon, unfortunately. (BTW, the use of opium is an obvious sign of which part of the world you’re living in or writing about)
“On Perception” – one’s thoughts are the culprit for distorting reality. I can die one day and revive on another
“Regrets” – I really, really, really like this one. It’s one of my favorites
“Silence” – I agree, the world is moving too fast and the way to survive (for most working class people) is we can never slow down. A lot of the times, I just want to block everyone out, spend time with myself (read a book), and slow time down. “Outer” is spelled with one “t”
“Rage” – It’s ambiguous and a little strange but I know the feeling
“Monsoon of my Mind” – again, I know the feeling
Keep up the good work 🙂

It’s funny how we often overlook the spellings of smaller words and hit the nail with the bigger ones. I never knew ‘outer’ is spelt with a single t! *embarrassed*

English is a strange language that needs to get with the program. It doesn’t make sense a lot of the time in spelling. For example: prize and surprise. For pronunciation: school and Schwartz. Everything else I read was perfect, so don’t fret about such an abnormality 🙂 I’m a proofreader so my eyes are drawn to things like that and I feel compelled to fix them 🙂

Hello fellow bloggers!
My blog mostly contains poetry with just a dash of articles and short stories thoroughly mixed with feministic opinions, idealistic situation, bad fandom references and served with a light sprinkle of glittery quotes on top.
Also, in my latest post, I lament about women objectification in our society. If you like that kind of deep, gruelling, frustrating, anti-society literature, do give it a read! I would love to hear your thoughts, opinions, reviews, anything (!!) about it.

I like what you wrote and understand. It’s such a contradiction – the desire for females to be pretty and the high standard for that, but the prettier you are, the more likely you’re going to get raped. The place where you live needs a social change as I’m sure you agree for the betterment of society.

Yep exactly! The hypocrisy of it all and that fact that a woman is judged according to her appearance first and work later is horrible and prevalent in most parts of world if not all. I hope something good happens and I hope it happens soon.

Suggestions: (I put suggestions on here so people don’t see it in your comments).
“…Vermont, which was as far away from his niece that Elias could get while staying in the country….”
“…Vermont, which was as far from his niece as he could get while staying in the country….”
To me, this gives a smoother read.
“hadn’t born fruit”
“hadn’t bore fruit”
“Elias later will hide it”
“Elias will hide it” or “Elias will later hide it”
It’s awkward the way you had it. Both “later” and “will” shows time, so the first suggestion shows its redundancy while the second shows a smoother read.

Hey everyone! I’m curious about a couple things. I’m a writer and love to get experimental with my writing. I work on novels, short stories, etc. Anyway, I’m wondering if it’s safe to put stories up on my blog and they not be stolen? I’m not sure how to get copyrights or if they’re even needed.
Also, are there any specific tags or categories that garner more traffic?
Please comment on my blog, specifically at http://www.dreamermeggan.wordpress.com. I really appreciate any feedback! Thank you! 🙂

I wish I could help you with the potential theft of putting your ideas on a blog since my work was stolen. I suggest you keep the stuff you want to publish in a super safe place while posting stuff that are high-quality and you are willing to risk.
I think the tag with the most traffic would be humor because who doesn’t like a great laugh?
