Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once! We tend to delete duplicate comments asking for feedback on the same post.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • When leaving comments, please remember not to add your blog’s url as your signature. It’s kinda spammy: after all, your handle links directly to your blog.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi everyone,

I have been taking feedback from this group over the past few weeks and think I have finally worked out some of the kinks as far as photo arrangement and focus to the post. I am a travel blogger so most of my posts are about places I’ve visited, go to get there, and what it’s like.

I’d love ANY feedback you folks have for me! Please respond on my post/page. Thank you in advance 🙂

    1. Great blog. I like your use of photography and quotes and the content is well organised. You could even consider breaking down each post into a series of shorter pieces, since you have lots of great material.

  2. Hey all!

I’ve been blogging and posting everything that pops into my head in the late hours of the night, the early hours of the morning, and the time in between boring twelfth grade classes. As I’m new to the world of wordpress, some feedback, likes, or comments would be utmost appreciated!

  4. I wrote a blog post, published it, added tags, double checked that it is public. But it’s not showing up anywhere. It’s not in my feed and it’s not in my list of posts.

    BUT
I copied the link to add to some other places and the link is live and working. What is going on?

The missing page is this one:

  5. Dear Community Pool,

My blog is called Julie’s Jokers and is devoted to classic jokes. The latest post is the satirical How to Sing the Blues:

I give attributions whenever possible. Some content not suitable for the easily offended or those of tender years.

I’m happy with the content, but I welcome suggestions on how to draw in more readers.

    Constructive criticism gratefully appreciated. 🙂

  7. Hi everyone,

My first time making use of the Community Pool. I blog about healthy food, fitness and travel. My most recent post is about trying to eat healthy while on extra-long flights.

  8. I am hoping someone can help me out with a simple question about blog creation/content. I have the Free service wordpress offers and currently I am using the Hemingway Rewritten theme, in part because it offers a nice big header area for random pictures of my choosing to be displayed when a visitor views the page. Is there a way to customize this theme (or one similar to it or a different theme in general) in that a visitor will see the images randomly cycle through the header area WITHOUT having to reload the page?

    Much regards.

  9. Hi everyone! So I’ve got this blog, as you may have guessed, and I’m looking for some feedback on it. As of now I just have stream of consciousness kind of things. Documenting my thoughts as I navigate life and whatnot. I want to, soon, have more categories like poetry or book reviews or short stories. I’ve got a long way to go, but any feedback on either my plan or my writing itself or anything is totally welcome! That’s why I’m here after all 🙂

    1. Hey there!

Took a quick look at the post and I really enjoyed it. Your pictures and write-up are great – detailed enough yet not long-winded.

Congratulations on joining the blogosphere and wishing you all the best!

  13. Hello everyone!

I recently joined the blogosphere and have thoroughly enjoyed the journey so far.

My primary concern with my current themeis that the reader comments are up top, near the title. It makes commenting just a wee bit more inconvenient. But I do love the elegant simplicity of this theme. I find it crisp, clean and easily navigable. I am open to suggestions for any similar themes that has the comments at the bottom of the post.

I would really appreciate it if you could visit my page and give me any tips/suggestions for improvement.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Happy blogging!
