Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once! We tend to delete duplicate comments asking for feedback on the same post.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • When leaving comments, please remember not to add your blog’s url as your signature. It’s kinda spammy: after all, your handle links directly to your blog.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hello everyone, I would love any feedback on my blog, Weekademia. http://www.weekademia.com It is a weekly blog inspired by my working week in academia, my target audience is fellow academics at all levels of seniority and current and potential students. I’m currently blogging about the academic lifestyle rather than my research per se, although once it’s more established I would like to get students more involved and use it in my teaching which might mean more research creeping in here and there.

My posts have been pretty serious so far but I would like to interject some light-heartedness into the blog whilst still remaining professional so any ideas for this would be marvellous – was thinking about monthly ‘week in the lab of’ posts?

Also grateful for any tips to increase views/visitors?

    Thanks in advance!

    1. I really like how you include photos with your posts! makes it very visually appealing. Content is good, tho sometimes the wording gets a bit wander-y…. it’s great to write like you think but it’s also great to maintain the flow of your writing. You’re doing well, though. Keep it up!

      2. Np! I used to do that all. the. time. so I know how hard it is to keep it to a minimum. And I mean, to a point I think it adds character to your posts. But after a while it sort of breaks up the flow… which is something I had a really hard time accepting because I’d been doing it so frequently and for so long hahaha.
        Anyway, good luck!

      3. Ahaha right less talking about chocolate and my socks, and more about the actual subject! Thank you again, I’d attempt a pun with “all help traces back to the (honest) root” but I don’t want to embarrass myself any further.

  4. Hiya all!

I am the new kid on the block! Check out my blog at http://arpitaapramanick.wordpress.com

I am an aspiring author, so my blog is a platform to reach out to my wonderful readers. I do all sorts of crazy stuff on my blog — starting from writing open letters to authors whom I can not reach on their email, to approaching authors whose writings I like to do interviews for the blog. I have just started off and have lots of ideas that I want to experiment with. So, please visit me and share a thought or two.

    Thank you! 🙂

  5. hey team

So this week i put together a piece called ‘less zen, more phobia’ in response to some of the tragedy that has been going around South Africa where i live and reminding us that as bad as it is [and it IS bad] that the majority of people are actually wanting change and freedom and unity and so the need for us to be sharing more stories of where people are getting it right: https://brettfish.wordpress.com/2015/04/20/how-about-more-zen-less-phobia

Would love for you to take a look
Will come see some of your blogs now

    1. Great content in your posts! Just so you know, I am starting off with your first 3 mini-habits. I’ve heard the concept before but not you give a simple explanation.

I think you should explore other themes because current one doesn’t make your content pop — and you have contents that should def pop out. For instance, the landing page with the profile picture on top and other random picture in the middle almost makes me uninterested until I push past and start reading. But not all will push past though.

      Great job! Keep writing.

  6. Can you give me some feedback? I’m newer to blogging and feeling like mine is random and not focused on one topic or the other just more of a what matters that day and that maybe causing an issue…should I narrow in on one topic like parenting or local travel/events?

    1. Looks nice to me. I usually like more pictures in post. Your latest post about mom seems to have a lot of text and fewer pictures unlike the others that have more pictures.

      Keep up the good work!

  7. Hi! I don’t know if I am in the right place but is it possible to use the writing prompts for Blogger instead of WordPress. I follow The Daily Post from time to time and I really like some of the topics?

  8. New blogger here. I recently wrote about “You need to know what your email can reveal”. I just changed my page theme and completed more parts of my profile.

-What’s your impression within the first 5 seconds of landing the page: https://onetorch.wordpress.com

-Is the caps letter of the theme distracting?

    Thank you
