Community Pool

The place for advice, feedback, and friendly blogging conversation.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi all, I’m not new to blogging but I’m definitely a baby when it comes to WordPress. I’m a struggling writer (as in, struggling to write haha..ha..) so I’ve started this blog in an effort to force myself to write every day using the Daily Prompts from 2013 pretty loosely… I’m more of a creative writer but seeing as I haven’t written much in about two years, I’m just trying to write ANYTHING. Any feedback on the measly two entries I have so far would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi, your blog looks interesting, I enjoyed reading some of your posts…I would suggest maybe to work on your About page, your readers always love to get to know their author better; you can always add some pictures to your posts as well…just a thought:)
      Good luck!

  2. Hello Amazing Bloggers,
I’ve started blogging in February and I love it, recently I’ve started Writing 101 and it’s such a buzz every day:)
I would love some feedback about my blog, it has a little bit of everything…small pieces of me that I share with the world:)
Love it or not I would like to know:

  3. Hi guys,

Here’s my post for today (incorporating for daily prompts), it’s a bit personal because it reminds me of my experience of losing a child a year ago. And this is my first time describing Autumn (our country doesn’t have 4 seasons). I highly appreciate opinions and feedback about the scenery. Thank you so so much for all feedback.

  4. Good Morning, Community. My travel blog has been around for a while, but I’m lost when it comes to designing an introductory page. When you click on it, it simply gives a list of recent posts. Any recommendations about “how to” create a professional looking site? I need a basic “For Dummies” in order for this dummy to understand it. Thanks. Ron

      1. Yes, account I’m writing from is my girlfriend’s who is administrator on my blog, its the only way I can see what is going on on my blog. I can’t get to my account because of inactive sim (2level authentification on WP and email).
I have 27 comments pending and new posts to post. My blog has almost 150 000 views till now, it cost me so much work and now I cant enter 😦

  5. Hi friends. I am a volunteer from the US living in England. I write mostly about my experiences here, but also about feminism and religion and current events (sometimes separately, but also where they intersect). I’d appreciate any feedback: I’m trying to write more and grow as a writer. I’m hoping to branch out into other types of blogging too… food, perhaps?

  6. Hey everyone! I’m a young fashion/beauty blogger, and I just posted something new! I would love it if I could get some feedback/constructive criticism on it and my blog itself. Thank you, and have a nice day.

    1. Hello, Nicole. My first suggestion is to break up your information. By putting so much on one page you strain both your audience’s attention and the loading capabilities of their computers. I’d recommend looking at this blog:

      https://fennecfawn.wordpress.com/

She covers fashion as well and does a good job of chunking her information into easily accessible sections. I hope this is helpful.
