Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hey all!
I have blogging for some time now but I want more traffic on my site (doesn’t everyone ;)) and to take my blog to the next level. Here is my latest post… https://mintjulepgirl.wordpress.com/2016/03/21/all-lavender/

I have taken the photos on my iphone. Do they seem like good quality or should I take them with a real camera?

    Is my blog user friendly?

I am looking for any feedback or comments even if not related to my questions. I really want to take my blog to the next level.

    1. Hi Madison,

I like your blog, and the quality of your pictures is fine! As a new reader on your site I clicked Home and Posts and found nothing, it was a bit confusing to have to search them out at Categories – although the idea of sorting your posts is great. I’m also looking to improve, so if you have time please stop be mine! All (honest) feedback welcome:)

    2. I agree with Ragnhild — looks like the Post section is empty? Other than that, I love the layout of your blog. It’s got a great color scheme. The photos look great. 🙂

As for upping your audience, how often do you post? If it’s infrequent, you will probably have fewer followers. (This is my problem 🙂 )

Would you be able to review one of my posts?

But You’re Not a REAL Tomboy!

    1. I love the theme – clean and easy to use and a sweet picture at the top. I would try using images in the posts themselves more – you can use it as a ‘set image’ on the sidebar so it appears on your home screen but not on the post if you want – as from experience posts with pictures tend to get more hits. And people love pictures of babies!!!

      1. That was extremely helpful!! I appreciate your time 🙂 I have noticed I’m drawn to pictures…..I guess I’ve been in a hurry to post and will take time to choose photos in future. Thanks!

On blogging in general, on the blog itself or on the posts since I’m a newbie so any help is appreciated (: The blog itself is about my habit changings and learning in general (which will include self development, sport and language learning.) Thanks in advance. (:

    1. Nice postings! I’m also not a native speaker of English and I know how it feel to struggle with putting my ideas into English sometimes. A little bit of advice, you may watch some tutorials on WordPress to further customize your site 🙂 I just started my first blog this February and revamped it last week.https://siqisite.wordpress.com/
      Happy blogging!

    1. I really like your blog! I checked out a few posts. One thing I did see was that some of your pictures looked dark and blurry. Do you have an iPhone? Have you heard of VSCO? I use that photo editor all the time.

I’m doing a bookish blog myself and would appreciate some feedback from someone more experienced such as yourself 🙂

      1. Thank you! I use my iPhone 6 to take the pictures. I’ve never noticed that the pictures were blurry before, but I’ll definitely check that app out 🙂

  9. Hey
the last time I was here, I got a really nice feedback. thank you guys 🙂

today I have a question for you, does somebody knows about anything to do with copyright and/or image licenses?
the thing is; is there any way to eliminate the option of copying someone’s image by right clicking on it? some kind of blockade or warning that appears once one right-click on it?

    1. Hi, I like the layout of your blog and the color palette. But I guess it’ll be better to add a “read more” line to each posting to make the homepage shorter and viewers don’t need to scroll all the way down to read other posts 🙂 Good luck with your new blog! 2. I like your color palette as well. My suggestion has to do with images. People are visually attracted to clear, clean and inspiring images, especially when it comes to food and travel. I would suggest sprucing up your images. The images of you cooking the strawberry pretzel salad should be clear and not blurry, and you should place the ingredients around in a pleasing and clean way. It’s all about staging. You need to inspire your reader to want to make it through your images. I hope this helps!

  12. My exams were extremely near, so I thought to write an article on preparation of exams. This will help me as well as other students around the globe to adopt a wise approach towards examinations. Here you may read it:

    1. Your site is well-organized. Your About page is excellent. It clearly states the purpose of your blog and tells us a little about yourself. Your article was enjoyable, though rather lengthy. Consider that it could have been broken into a series of posts. Also the portion you titled “Penmanship” is actually focused on time management. You might want to change that subtitle. I think your audience would want more tips on goal-setting and note taking. Those would make good posts. I like your suggestion that they pray 🙂 http://gracelead.co

    1. I could not find an About page on your site. It would be nice to add one that states the purpose of your site. I like that you have categories. I’m sure that makes it easier for readers to go directly to their topic of interest. Was there some reason I got a pop-up as I entered your site? I found it annoying. Your site appears to be filled with much useful information for those considering college. http://gracelead.co

    1. Your site is visually pleasing. You may want to put your blog as your Home page and move what you currently have there to an About page. When a person visits your site regularly they will probably prefer to immediately see your latest post. http://gracelead.co

      1. That’s really nice of you and thank you very much for that. Most of the material there are excerpts from book chapters I’m writing so they are not really stand alone pieces. More testers to see what people think. All I see is my self critical boo hiss. Comments from readers are very much appreciated and give me the incentive to continue. Thank you so much 🙂

  14. Hey! I’m very new to blogging and not really sure what I’m doing to be honest, any advice or feedback you have for me will be very much appreciated. I am not a writer so I worry that no one will want to read my blog especially as I don’t have a main focus yet, but it’s something I have wanted to do for a long time. Also if you fancy following me, I will follow you back xx

    1. For “new to blogging,” you are doing great. The look of your site coordinates well with your title. I enjoyed your About page. It is an excellent introduction to you. At some point, it will be helpful to decide on some categories for your posts (ex. Sociology, Being a Princess, Book Reviews). Clearly, you have a lot to share. Don’t feel that your blog has to have just one focus. http://gracelead.co

  15. Hi there, I’ve been working on a cooking blog for a few months, and I’m trying to find the right balance between sharing personal stories and sharing recipe information. I’m sure some readers prefer one over the other, but I’m trying to appeal to a group that enjoys cooking and also likes a personal connection with the recipe. I’d be happy to hear your thoughts as to whether I’m hitting that balance in my latest post! (It’s about carrot cake. And Thanksgiving.)

  16. Hello everyone!
Very new to blogging and always nervous to post things as I’m never sure how it would be received. I do have one question, I’ve posted two articles already and busy with my third. When I posted my first one I got 6 likes and a few comments, I was super pumped! Such a great feeling. I posted my second about a week later and nothing! Needless to say I felt a little bumbed and thought that maybe I’m not cut out for it. If you guys could give me some feedback I would love it.
    Thanks

    1. Hi, don’t give up on your blog 🙂 I know it’s hard to start a new blog from scratch since I just started mine this February! https://siqisite.wordpress.com/
You’ve got great contents. My advice for you is to create a homepage icon/label on your blog so that viewers know they can go back from “About” and “Contact” pages. Also, you may add more images or other media element to fancy up your postings. Another tip is to add “read more” line in your post to make the homepage shorter so that viewers don’t need to scroll all the way down to read your previous posts. The most important point is to share your posts via Facebook and Twitter, also comment on others’ blogs to attract new audience! Good luck with your new blog!
