Community Pool

The place for advice, feedback, and friendly blogging conversation.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi all
I’ve just started a new money saving blog in the U.K. It’s based on how I personally save money and hopefully passing on some tips. Some topics I’ve covered so far are how to make the most out of supermarket point cards, cheap valentines gifts, get healthy for free etc. I would love some feedback and happy to return the favour

  2. Hi everyone,
It would be great to get some feedback on my most recent which is a #DearMe letter I wrote to my younger self. My blog covers a wide range of different topics but I really enjoyed writing a random post which didn’t necessarily fit into my travel, creative writing or books categories. I would really appreciate constructive criticism/feedback on my writing style. Hopefully you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

    1. I really like the layout of your blog! It’s very easy to see all of your posts in one place, which is great. I didn’t know whether you had an about page or not, I didn’t see one. Maybe you might want to make it more visible, or maybe make one if don’t. Your content is really enjoyable!

  3. Good afternoon WordPress community!
I’ve started a social experiment blog that I’d like to get your feedback on, and possibly even your participation. I wanted two complete strangers to come up with thought-provoking questions and then respond to them with the utmost honesty in an anonymous setting that eliminates identity and judgement. Take a look at some of the conversations thus far, and please feel free to join in the conversation as well! Thanks!

  4. Loving your posts!! I would really like some feedback and comments on my blog posts about what its like to live with depression, anxiety, eating disorders and mental illness. It’s great to have feedback on something so personal to me and to know whether it is helpful to people out there or not. I would also love to hear what people would like me to blog about next. Thank you in advance and jump on over to my page 🙂 https://thesuitcasekiddealingwithabrokenhome.wordpress.com

    1. you need to set it up first. There are no posts and no where to become a follower so I is hard for people to sign up. I will sign up when I get a chance.

    1. Hey! I think the question isn’t “what am I doing wrong?” You have a great blog with a clean format and clear vision. (Sidenote: love the amount of atl-J on your Spotify playlist) But, from what I understand to get more followers and viewers, it’s a lot more about giving the love you want to receive. You’ll be surprised as to how many people return the favor once you drop them a comment explaining how much you like and admire their blog. Keep doing what you’re doing!

      1. Thanks so much Jeff! I think you’re right – I gotta show the love! What I would like to do is find blogs that are similar to mine to comment. That why my comments are relative and I would more than likely return at a later date. Instead of blogs my size, I know quite a few big blogs and my comment would just get lost in the middle – plus I hate leaving my website in the comment space of big blogs because I feel like I look desperate. What’s a good blog search engine (if it exists!)?

    1. I like the concept so much. Just one line a day and so many memories to look back on. Am encouraged to do something similar on my Twitter feed. It’s beautiful.

    2. Great concept!! I feel that the varied length of the sentences works quite well. I wasn’t so sure about how well each video works with the sentences but I think that’s just because I am not you! If that makes sense! I have followed anyway because the concept really appealed to me 🙂

      1. Thanks Olivia! It’s very helpful to hear about the music; I think I can try to keep the theme of the songs and the sentences more congruent while still staying true to my musical tastes.

    1. You absolutely slayed on your latest post. The breakdown of what men want and women want out of a partner was hilarious and also incredibly accurate. You did such a great job of pointing out the hypocrisies we all harbor when looking for a partner. Look forward to reading more of your thoughts/observations

  9. Hi all!

I just recently started blogging. Here is my most recent post about a near death experience, God, and love.

    God is Love

I started blogging to get back into my two hobbies: writing and photography. I’d love feedback as I’m a newbie and would be more than happy to check out your blog in return! Thanks! 🙂

  10. A reader (“lilypup”) recently commented on one of my posts and gave me a great idea and I’d like to extend it to all of you that are looking to benefit/grow your own blogs, as well as the blogs of others:
My blog, “Blog Roulette” is based on reader participation, and readers like lilypup feel a certain amount of ownership over the things they write (which I can totally understand). So she offered to write her responses on her own blog, and allow me to re-blog them as a new post on mine as well in order to promote the format that I’m trying to grow. If you would like to consider doing the same thing, just hop on over to my blog ( http://theblogroulette.com ) for directions on how to participate.
    Thanks everyone!

  11. Hello, I recently gave a try to poetry. I’m just an amateur, and though this was only written for myself with no other purpose other than expressing my feelings at the moment, I love to hear feedback.

    welcome
