The place for advice, feedback, and friendly blogging chatter.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:
TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

I added some new articles to my blog. motherofpeace.wordpress.com I would really love some more feedback and direction on where to next. I feel like my target audience has become too narrowed, how can I change that?

I thought the most recent post did a good job of making the target audience less narrowed! Doing a post about inner struggles is something that I think most people can relate to, so that captures their attention. Also, the previous posts are great, too, because they capture an audience that people don’t necessarily target as often, which is important. The only thing that I would clarify would be the oppression bit. I would clarify the ways that defy the thoughts of people who do think that you’re oppressed. Also, your body is strong and amazing. No matter what anybody says, that will never change. You’re a beautiful individual, inside and out, and I can tell from your writing.

I really enjoyed your holiday post! It never really occurred to me that people seem to act as though over winter break you have absolutely nothing to do…ever! For me, it’s definitely a working break, and I need to keep myself organized, too, between shopping for gifts, practicing instruments, and seeing friends. It’s definitely a useful article for students–particularly college students, because of the longer break. I also just started my blog and only have two posts, but I would love some feedback as well if you’ve got time! Happy holidays!

Hi! Thanks for reading and for the feedback, I really appreciate you taking the time! I returned the favour and read your two posts, both of which I found very detailed and interesting! I’ve always been fascinated by different types of hair and how their upkeep needs to be implemented, and your first post interested me so much that I followed you in the hopes that you will write more of the same! Keep it up and happy holidays!

I just published a new blog post, and I would really love some feedback. I have such a rambling style that is a lot how I talk, and I am curious to know if people who don’t actually know me find it as humorous as those who do know me. I’d love to know what other bloggers think.
Thanks,

Thanks!

Would love some additional feedback on the new layout of the page, all suggestions are welcome. In addition, feedback on my new post…or any of them really, would be wonderful. Thank you! 🙂

I really like it so far. I like the writing style and the theme works for your wit. The message is a good one as more people in our society are addicted to the internet. It’s become that we only like a place if it offers free wifi. I’m definitely going to keep checking out your blog for more. Keep Up the Good Work! (from one new blogger to another)

Hello! So I am not exactly ‘new’ here since I created the account a year ago but the gap between my first post and second post is more than a year! I seem to run out of inspiration every time. It would be such a huge favour if anyone could drop by on the latest post and give me some constructive criticism? Thanks in advance! 🙂

That post was very eye opening and I’m still registering the fact of how true everything you said is. I’m a feminist and I’m shocked at how even I sometimes use the pmsing excuse. I would love to read more of your posts and if you’re worried about topics to write, there are daily prompts that people often write their posts based on. If you don’t want to do that, honestly write about what you know most, you! I hope this helps and please keep writing because that was amazing!!!! 🙂

Hey! Thank you so much! I do think its really common for us to use the pms excuse and it must stop. I wasn’t sure if I was able to articulate my point clearly but your comment makes me feels so happy 🙂 yes I have noticed the daily prompts and I think will start using that too 🙂
I saw your blog right now, so beautiful! And I completely related to your post “Limitless”- beautifully written! 🙂

Brand new to this blog thing and I know I have horrible grammar. It doesn’t help that my writing style is so casual!

Hi guys I’ve written a couple of travelogues on my site.
One on Japan and another on a roadtrip through India. Would love to hear how they read and general feedback on layout and presentation. I realise the Japan narrative is overly long. It was initially written as a daywise log but I ended up posting the whole thing in one go.
Thoughts and comments will be appreciated. Many thanks!

Your post on the coming home for the holidays was wonderful! I could relate to it in many ways like the childhood friend who turned out to be so much more as well as the feelings you had felt for years. I was also forced to deal with backbiting and filthy competition because I was surrounded with people who said that they meant “well” for me but they really wanted to surpass me by using me. It took a lot of effort to learn how to disconnect from them because they were everywhere so well done! Keep up the great work! It was a lovely post!!! 🙂
