The place for advice, feedback, and friendly blogging chatter.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:
TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

I left a comment on one of your posts.
To be honest with you, I think some of it may be just a little bit over-sensitive / not entirely practical.
I understand the impulse of wanting to save the world, but just perhaps, instead of just focussing on the atrocities, or perceived atrocities, you could be a bit more balanced and less sensationalist? Not everyone who employs domestic workers are mean paid-slave-owners/slash/rapist, for instance. And to be frank, although I don’t advocate the use of pesticides… I don’t like cockroaches… And if they infest my home… I will get rid of them.
There are actually quite a large number of good people out there, who care about others and their environment.

I decided to start a blog for our new business as a bit of a log on how it began and (hopefully) how it grows! I have a personal blog that I love writing on and I get a good amount of views but it’s a blog where I share recipes and I find people read those more than simple posts – am I correct? Do you think I could do something more to get people reading my business blog and perhaps in turn buying our products?
Thanks

I think a lot about salient details and building a story with details that matter- very hard stuff to do- and takes serious revision. I don’t always freel like revising in blog posts, but make myself do at least a little- sometimes after publishing it.
I’d love your feedback on today’s post about Powell’s Books

Also, please comment or follow and let me know if you’re writing an artist or writer’s blog. Take care!

I wish I had a before picture. Your blogging 101 daily challenges have helped me transform my site. I know I could do more . . . any advice? I wonder if publishing posts from Jeanne and Will on the same site might be confusing?

Hello fellow blogger friends!
I have a few questions, a couple specifically related to my posts and one in reference to all posts. I have been writing/ blogging for approximately nine months. I seem to get lots of views, yet very few comments and trying to figure out why. When it comes to all posts, there are symbols ( arrow down, arrow up, thought bubble and a star) at the bottom of the posts which I am not sure exactly what each means. I just recently figured out the bubble is to reply to the post. Lol Can you please help? Please respond on this community pool. Thanks.

Started up my blog as I am in the process of writing my first book with hopes of self publication soon. I decided to start my blog to just share some ideas of my own writing, emotions, and feelings around my character. My account is literally two days old, so I am still in the process of customizing space. Any and all constructive criticism is very welcomed!
