Feedback, camaraderie, and free popsicles! (Free popsicles: not included.)
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:
TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smother.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Perhaps if you made the pictures bigger it would be better to showcase the outfit. Another thing that you could try is using the same filter/edits for each photo in a post. It makes the post look more uniform. Your clothing taste is great! 🙂

Hi there! I read some really nice blogs! Would anybody give me some feedback about my blog at worldwidestudent.wordpress.com please?
It’s about my experience as an international student. I am trying to give a positive example as I believe in the power of cultural exchange and shifting boundaries. However, I feel like it might be too self-centered and consequently not very interesting… Any kind of advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Roberto – I like your photos. Your blog looks beautiful.
When I read the posts, I kept trying, and failing, to find you, Roberto Rodriguez, in among the words. The dates and historical detail were a bit dry and Wikipedia without your character and opinion as a lens to see them through.
I wanted to know how you felt about the places you visited. How the light struck you. The colours of the stone in different cities. Who you met. Where you ate. Human details that you noticed as you walked around. I wanted to see the city through your eyes.
All good luck with your blog.

Hey guys, I’m reposting my story in serialized form because I changed a lot after talking to an agent who loved it but said a book as opposed to a novella would sell better. So, this is the first part.
What do you think about the characters, the description, and the world building?

I have no idea what to do with my layout! It’s in limbo right now and it’s driving me nuts. I know I could stand to put up a header image at least. Does anyone have some suggestions for other improvements? http://onemindfully.wordpress.com/

I am glad that you like it, and if you do not have pictures of your own, you can choose some from the internet. Check always the copyright about them, in case you need to ask for permission. Your blog will look brighter with some images. I’m sure!

I thought the same, once I was done with my first blog – now time to check everyone out. I found tons of people I followed on twitter and started commenting away. I think it’s the best way to be “found,” and get yourself out there. No one likes someone only interested in themselves! 🙂 Great post!

Hello,
(Sorry I had to repost this as I read : my comment was waiting for sth ?)
I REALLY would like to get some feedback on two posts and my about page. You can pick one of them or read them all.
– what is your first impression? Why?
– Did my story draw you in? Why (not)?
– Do you got some advice in general or specific to the post.
– Tells my about page enough about the goal of my blog? Is it too much text?
– whatever you want to share that could improve my writing and blog
– blog post ‘curious message’
– blog post ‘dive in fully’
– about page
Thanks !!

Wow, I’ve never even thought about making my own deodorant. 🙂 And my suggestion would be to review other peoples’ blogs, and then include the link to your blog after you’re done with your feedback. People are more likely to visit your blog and give you feedback if you’ve done the same for them. Good luck! 🙂

Good information. I would make the pictures bigger and centred. You can click on the upper left corner of them and change size, position. Check mine to see if you want them that big, those are in size large.

I agree with the above comment. Larger pictures would better showcase the food that you are trying to promote/review.

Hi Amelia,
A few pictures would be great. WordPress has a tie-up with Getty Images.
Here’s the link – https://wordpress.com/support/getty-images/ in case you want to know how to go about it. Its free.
You could use these to embed images relevant to your posts and make it more visually appealing. Just saying.
Have a nice day.
