  1. I have a fairly new movie blog, begun in December. It is all about the effects of cinema, the craft of film making, analysis and personal perceptions. I was an English major and I focus on creative writing and am trying to write with minimal space used for synopsis and in general just something original and organic. I feel things really strongly as an INFJ and the blog is kind of an expression of living life this way. =) If you have time, read this recent post and give me your reactions/suggestions. Thanks so much!

  2. Hi everyone! I just started a blog not too long ago and write about anxiety and mental health. But I don’t get that much traffic to the site so I’m just wondering what I should improve on. I am not sure if it is because it is new, or my writing needs work, or the layout should be better, etc. All thoughts for improvement are welcome and I’d love to hear what you think. Here is my site: http://sophiebrexx.wordpress.com/

    1. Hey Sophie, your blog looks really good. It’s not eye-straining to read the text like many blogs out there. For a blog that started 20 days ago, you’re doing great. Your writing style is good and well organised. The only way to get more traffic is to keep writing.

    2. Hey Sophie, I must say your sight is impressive! It has great information and you keep it fresh and real by sharing your own experiences. This makes your content great. Keep up the good work. 🙂

  3. I hope it’s not too late to join the Writing 201 seminar, Ben. I’ve submitted my application form and I do hope it was received. The excitement of the upcoming seminar is electric, I think! I was caught up in stuff too much to have joined Writing 101…it’s nice to know there are others joining too who were in the same boat as I was during the first seminar. Has my application been received?

      1. Thank you for replying to my query Ben! I have scattered my questions throughout WordPress (‘hope it wasn’t too annoying!) but I will also ask you a question that I asked Michelle in another post (if any of you pass by my posts again) and it’s this: I haven’t been to The Commons yet and already a new blog has appeared on my account page (my blogs) called Writing 201 July 2014. I’m a bit confused since everyone has been saying there would be no writing assignments in Writing 201. Thanks again for replying to my question about joining Writing 201! I have received the email, by the way!

      2. Okay, PLEASE IGNORE that stupid question of mine about the “blog” that appeared in my blog-management page! I spoke too soon without looking into the “blog” first! I now know it’s a special link to The Commons! But thank you again for answering my first question and reassuring me that the invite would be arriving soon!

    2. As an avid coffee drinker, I absolutely loved the post where you talked about french press. I could get into a whole conversation about coffee, but I won’t on here. Life posts are always fascinating. My only question to you is what is your purpose for the blog and the entertainment factor for the reader? The format was good but not all the posts when I scanned through seemed to catch my attention.
Would you check out my blog and give feedback please?

      1. Hi Lady,

The blog design looks good, but as a senior citizen and male to boot, I can’t relate to a uterus.
As for the purpose of my blog, I agree, it’s not readily apparent and unless someone were to read all of the entries, they might not still understand. I’ll work on that.
Primarily, it’s a sandbox. I’m trying to break away from the corporate life, and either start a brick & mortar business, or some kind of freelance career. One of my interests is website creation. It seems that everyone is doing a blog nowadays. The two biggest platforms are blogger.com and WordPress. By blogging, on both, I learn them, and may be able to sell my knowledge to others that are not tech savvy.

  4. My blog is just a mixture of things in my life. However, I would like my parenting stuff and photography to stand out. What can I do to my site to help bring those two subjects to the forefront. I have recently started so I don’t have many of my photos up yet, but I plan to. Also if you get a chance check out a post on my parenting page, would like to know if they flow well, or are all over the place. Thanks! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  7. I have been toiling with the layout and theme of my blog (audreyposts.wordpress.com) and was wondering if it made a good first impression or is too boring. I wanted to keep it simple. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated too! Thanks! (you can comment here)

    1. I like your layout. It isn’t cluttered and it allows for plenty of focus on your content. My only piece of advice is to break your paragraphs into smaller pieces for sake of easy reading. It just makes it easier on the eyes. Otherwise it is a simple and clean blog. Very nice!

    1. Hi,
It looks like you’re definitely headed in the right direction. One thing I’m learning is to identify who my true audience is, and form my content based on that. I enjoyed reading your short story, and I’m glad to have come across another fellow writer on wordpress! Best of luck!

  12. Hello!
I have recently started a blog about baking and a bit of travel as well.
I have still not found the perfect cover photo for my home page. I would like some feedback on whether the current photo looks good and intriguing or maybe if I should replace it with some interesting quote or a graphic image?
I was thinking of something like “baking, it’s chemistry you can eat” or just my tag line.
It would be great to know if the layout and menu looks pleasing to the eye and easy to navigate! Any other suggestions are most welcome!

  13. I’m a Jewish believer in Jesus who is trying to find her voice amongst a sea of Christian blogs. I have a unique story which I talk about throughout my blog but would love some constructive criticism or commentary on the feel of the blog. I’d like it to be a place where seekers feel comfortable to go and see real life Christianity. You can check it out at:

  14. Help
My aim is nothing less than to create a new calendar devoid of religion for all the people of the world. The idea is very simple but radically different from what people have been brought up to believe. I want to convey information in small, digestible chunks. Unfortunately, blogs are posted in reverse order, with most recent at the top of the page. I want to add chunks of information at the bottom of the page so it reads like a serial. I suspect there is a way to do that in WordPress but I need one of you wise people to advise me how.

  15. Hello fellow Bloggers!
I joined wordpress back in March. I started a blog on writing and self improvement. I’m still trying to find its real definition and plan on adding more weekly features as I tap into my creative writing. For example, I plan on featuring a weekly short story for reading, comments and suggestions. What are your thoughts on that idea? Do you think it will flow with the theme of my blog? Any feedback and comments would be greatly appreciated!

    Welcome!

If you have the time, please give my site a read through. I’m looking for feedback on tone and voice (readability/conciseness/understandability), as well as general site layout (aesthetics/ease of use/etc) Comments or private messages are encouraged and welcomed, thanks!

    Cheers,

    1. It’s always good to post at least twice a week though with life sometimes it’s just dependent on your schedule. I try for at least once a week but really anything more frequent than that is best.
Feel free to check out my blog if you want. I’d be open to critiques:
