The place for feedback, advice, and friendly blogging chatter.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

I love your blog! As a nerdy person who is also a big fan of the word “bro”, this really caught my eye.
In terms of your site’s looks, I have to say that having that recent post thing in your header looks like a paid-for ad. Plus it takes up over half of the space. It’s a good idea but it’s format isn’t ideal for me.
Happy Blogging!

okay. I have two suggestion. First, try utilizing the ‘read more” tag. The posts are well put together and interesting but extremely long. Breaking it up helps both readers (they can just click and read the entire thing) and you as the front page of your blog stays neat and uncluttered. Be sure and proof-read before you publish. There are a few typos in each posting. small, but some people will just stop reading because of it. (not me, i read everything). And followers eventually show up. use clear tags for each post, try to use just 4 or 5 really spot on tags. more than that and search engines won’t search for you. also keep posting responses to other peoples questions in the pool, visit other blogs and comment and people ill start visiting you.
Also, you have a smaller audience than a lot of blogs. Yours is very focussed on one religion, and while that is great it also will prevent a lot of people from reading. your style of writing is very good. don’t give up.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Suze – Thank you SO much! I am working on shortening the length… I plan on it from now on. I just couldn’t find a chopping off place this time… The Read more tag is a great idea! And thank you for all the other input as well – all of it is SUPER helpful. I appreciate it so much!

I enjoyed your post on cursing and am now following! Maybe add a touch more depth on what cursing means to you (cliche but stay with me). How does it liven up a sentence, or convey more emotion. Maybe instead of giving an overall viewpoint pick out a specific situation. Overall I thought the content was great! Keep it up.

Hi there! I could really use some help with my blog. See, I started it because we moved out of state and I wanted to find a new hobby being in a town where my boyfriend and I know no one, and I thought it would be a great way to keep everyone up to date on our lives. I ended up really enjoying it and started trying to find fun ideas to blog about. But then, two of my best friends started blogging, and next thing I knew my ideas were being recreated by them. I am flattered, but in an effort to stand out, I was hoping to continue to be unique and it seems fleeting now. I have kind of been feeling a little lost and stuck lately in my blogging and I could really use some suggestions or inputs of any kind to help move it along and find my groove again. What works/doesn’t/general advice/ideas. I would love to really get it up and going and bring in a lot of readers like I did in the beginning. Now, views have really dwindled. Thank you so much in advance! https://fromleftfieldlife.wordpress.com/

First of all, write what you want. But if you’re running low on inspiration and ideas, try The Daily Post’s daily prompts. Also, reading new blogs can help get creative juices flowing.
In terms of your friends, perhaps ask them to not copy your ideas or ask them to give you credit by links in their posts.
Hope that helps!

Hey I just started my first year of teaching, in a high school, this year. You’ll love it! If you want to check out my blog its’s https://cee91blog.wordpress.com/
I guess a couple suggestions would be to watch for typos or mistakes. I go over my posts a million times and usually still find things I messed up.
But, on your about me page I’m not sure if I’m correct but you said “Although, I’m excited about leaving college I’m nervous about starting college.” I think you meant you were excited about leaving high school. I might be wrong though and if so my bad.
On your home page you have an image that won’t show and I’m not sure if you really need a home page if you have an about me page that you could put the information saying to click the navigation tabs on. Then there is a page you don’t have anything on, beauty, yet. When I had a page that didn’t have anything in it I made it private and you had to use a password to get into it that way I could work on it and then make it public when it was ready.
I do really like your outfit section and that apple pie looks delicious. Just keep working and I think you will have a great blog.

Don’t be embarrassed. I have gone back through and re-read a blog I’ve already made public and realized I had mistakes in it. You can always go back and edit plus no one is perfect.
Teaching is great. Your first year will be super crazy and hectic but, as long as you find a good support system at the school you work at then you will be fine.
Plus you still have college to worry about so enjoy that while you can haha
