The Community Pool is for those of you looking for feedback, whether on post ideas, writing, blog design and layout, or anything else.
If you have a post, page, or idea you want to bounce off someone, leave a comment. Your fellow bloggers can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Read on for the ground rules and to leave a comment . .
TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- You’ll get the best feedback if you can be as specific as possible about what you’d like people to respond to or where you’re struggling. If you simply leave a link to your blog, it’s likely to be overlooked.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. We’re here to help and support one another, not to beat anyone down.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

This may not be the accurate place for this, but every time I try to respond to a comment on the Daily Post, I am sent to a page that says: Oops”. This has been happening for days. Fixable?

Hello dears. I have been on WordPress for just over a month now, and have so far restricted myself to writing factual pieces about history and life after death. This week I have started my first ever piece of fiction writing. I would be grateful if anyone would care to take a look and tell me what they think of the story.
Thank you very much.

I started a new blog writing short stories about my life. (I’ve been through a lot). I love to write, but I’m not professional in anyway. I just posted my first story over at http://www.raggedbutterfly.com. I’d like feedback on my writing. Thanks!

Hi All,
I started a personal, anonymous blog 2 days ago. I’ve been involved with writing, but only technical stuff. This is a first. And I have fixed a theme for this blog too: documenting the events leading upto my wedding. So far, I’m enjoying writing and developing this blog. Please take a look and suggest me improvements. Particularly on the design front and how to find an audience. Thank you!

Greetings good folk!
I’m looking for some feedback on my site – mainly because I’m going to be assessed on it shortly. It’s aimed at new writers, writers who want to try writing for a different type of media, or people who are just curious about the creative writing process. There are more details on why I created it on the ‘about’ page. I’ve put a link to a questionnaire on the ‘feedback’ page which aims to find out which sections of the site people find most useful, what people think there should be more or less of etc. It would be great if some of you could take a look: http://creativewritersurvival.wordpress.com/
Many thanks

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good day.
I’m looking for feedback on my About Page: http://grammarmantis.wordpress.com/about/
A little background:
I’ve had my blog for 3 years (yesterday was the anniversary), of which the first 2.66 years, I gave it only 18 posts. In January, as part of a new year resolution, I revamped, redesigned and rebranded the blog, and started putting more effort into it.
This is the 3rd version of my About page, which I just wrote. The first one was shitty, and the second one was more along the lines who I am now. This current version is a slight modification to the previous one, because my sister said the first one is too intensely forward and borderline creepy.
I look forward to your opinions and feedback. Thanks in advance for your help! 🙂

I love, love, love your name. I like the content of your about page, but a few things. 1) I’d completely cut the first paragraph and start right in on the second, which is where the real content starts. 2) the more specific, the better. 3) when you refer to your two shaping incidents, I was very curious. You have an opportunity to write two awesome, personal posts and link them to the about page. 4) when you say I’m a man who…I wondered how old you are. You may want to change it to I’m a 22 year old man who…(or however old you are…) 5) intro your love of literature before you talk about where it comes from.
Ok. That’s all. I do like the content and think with just a few tweaks it can be even stronger.

Hi teacherblack,
Thanks for your response. I’ve considered your feedback and some others I got from my friends, and I’ve made a few changes. I’ll also consider writing the life-shaping incidents into posts.
Thank you for your help. 🙂
Also yes, I’ll be 22 in 15 days. Great guess.

Hello everyone! I’m truly happy to be part of the WordPress community now. I’m a blog newbie and enjoying every learning and growing moment. I’m using the Hemingway Rewritten theme. I’m starting to research ways to make the site look more personal. I hope to create customizable widgets, but learning how to modify CSS, not easy. To help focus my research, can you take a look at the blog and let me know what would make it more appealing to you? What would I need to do to make you want to comment and to make you come back? Please be honest. Im not the sensitive type. Anything to bring on the masses and to help them comment.

Hey, I’ve been running my own blog for three months now. However, I would like to launch a collaborative blog (therefore it could help me with the writer’s block). I’ve been thinking about a blog for young people/teens (I’m sixteen). Nonetheless, I’m open to topic ideas (each blogger would run his own category of topic; I’d like myself to run a advice column on a topic I haven’t decided yet). Let me know what you think.
Tell me if you’re interested to join in!
• Authors don’t need to already run a blog as long as they can write.
• Suggest me your category ideas and which one you’d like to run
• Authors should have free time once a week at least to discuss the blog.

I love your writing. So imagistic. And great structure. The only two places I have any suggestions about are when you mention the moment of wishing he were someone else, I at first thought you were thinking about a theoretical love in the future, not an actual love in the past. Then, at the end with this beautiful image of the last silvery thread in your hand, I wondered if the friend were dying, or no longer a friend, because the thread seemed to be the only left over of those invisible threads that linked you together. What a great story!
