Community Pool

Looking for feedback on your latest draft or your new header? Find critique and camaraderie in the Community Pool.

The Community Pool is for those of you looking for input, whether on post ideas, writing, blog design and layout, or anything else.

If you have a post, page, or idea you want to bounce off someone, leave a comment. Your fellow bloggers can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer). A few guidelines:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • You’ll get the best feedback if you can be as specific as possible about what you’d like people to respond to or where you’re struggling. If you simply leave a link to your blog, it’s likely to be overlooked.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. We’re here to help and support one another, not to beat anyone down.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  2. Yesterday I was able to post a users blog (not mine) to fb. I found another one I’d like to share, but I don’t see the “Share on fb” button that I saw yesterday. So…how do I share? Also, should I get people’s permission before I share their blogs?

      1. aaaaaa, no it won`t. perhaps they will have to have settings allowing sharing what they wrote, but you always post a link of their blog to fb, right?

  3. Hi everyone! I’m looking to get more feedback on my blog. It’s kind of new and I’m still getting it going. For now it’s focused on Polaroids and later on I’ll start posting stuff related to the art that I make and maybe music as well if I ever get the chance. I want to know what I can do to improve what I currently have on my blog and maybe also some suggestions on future posts and ideas. (: http://mypalinoia.wordpress.com

  5. Hi Everyone! Love reading through the threads – some great works and awesome feedback.

I would love some input on how to classify the “genre” for my fictional blog series, Max Holding On (http://www.maxholdingon.com/ & first post: http://www.maxholdingon.com/january-1-2014/)

I like to call it, “Less Bridget Jones, more Larry David starring in a modern comedic version of Odysseus in the 30 year old body of Alicia Silverstone.”

But y’know, might help to have a more concise category! Contemporary fiction? Comedy? Post-modern feminist chicklit? I can’t seem to like any of them…would so appreciate your take. And of course, any other constructive criticism you may have.

    Thank-you, it is much appreciated!

  6. I posted a picture of my grandson. In the original post I put Happy Happy in the Title, then his name, Kale, in the body. I submitted it. Then I edited it to take “Happy Happy” out and replaced it with just his name. I deleted his name from the body.
When I come to this website via the “Blogs I follow” link that I have in my tool bar, and go to my post, it doesn’t show the edit. It still shows “Happy Happy.”
However, when I go into via “My blog,” it DOES show the edit.
    Did I miss something?

  11. UNIQUENPROUD, I like the black and white theme although a pop of color could be quite effective. Also, there’s a lot of white, blank space – which I’d suggest you fill with some interesting writing!
